The food and service is really good. Just make sure that you bring plenty of money with you. I will not take away from the quality, but you can spend $40 per person easy and still walk out hungry. The sliders weren’t what expected, and the seafood platter that you’ll have to get a to go box for anywhere else, just isn’t enough food for the price, only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 star.
First time at this restaurant. We really loved their grilled snapper and grouper. Gumbo and Grilled shrimp were also very delicious. They served really fast. We enjoyed the outside view. I took one star off for couple of reasons. 1- a lot of mosquitoes that they eat you alive. They had citronella candles if you ask them to light. But I had to go back to my car and take a shower with deep woods OFF Spray. Make sure you are prepared if you like to dine outside 2- House salad was not fresh and key lime pie was not the best. But our server kindly listened to us and offered to bring something else. We thanked and said not necessary. 3- Margarita was a little pricey but we liked it. Overall we were very happy with the service and how delicious were the fish and the shrimp. It is worth to give this restaurant a try, we will go back again.
I haven't been here in 10+ years and have I missed out... great outdoor setup, watched the Alabama game... great atmosphere and HOLLY was the most awesome server and sister will be coming back for more live music.. I'm liking this atmosphere much more than the river shack.Food: 5/5
I ate here recently with my brother who had been here several times before but it was my first. Let me say the location is just beautiful. Right on a river with lots of boats docked. It was nice to just sit there on a sunny day and look out as the boats come and go. It was too hot to sit out on the deck but the windows inside are all around so you get a nice view no matter where you sit. The food was very good. I really enjoyed their gumbo and grilled shrimp. Our waitress was very nice. The only reason my overall rating is 4 and not 5 stars is because when I placed my order, I was brought out just the opposite in terms of how I wanted it prepared. The waitress realized it immediately when she came to check on us and I sent it back. She was very apologetic. They brought another meal out the way I ordered it, but by that time, we really couldn't stay much longer. We ended taking the majority of the meal home, which I enjoyed the next day. I do recommend this restaurant for the fact they cook the food the way you like it prepared even mixing a meal. So for example, I ordered the sampler platter with everything fried except the shrimp, which I asked to be grilled. This is a nice option. Also, the location is just lovely. Kid-friendliness: Their were some families with children there. One group of two little boys loved looking out and seeing the boats.
This restaurant is fantastic! I rarely eat seafood, but the fried oysters were awesome. The view of the river at sunset is beautiful. Kendall our server was the best! Make sure you ask for her. They have great live music and other events throughout the week. We will definitely visit more often.

We celebrated our baby shower at The Grand Mariner and it was a wonderful occasion! The backroom venue was a perfect size for our gathering with a spectacular view. The service was excellent and Kathy, our server, was always available to take our guests orders. Party platters were recommended for our event and not only was the food delicious, but there was a wide variety of customization. Highly recommend The Mariner for your next event. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu options and activities on the deck in the downstairs region. Parking: Plenty of parking for our event as well as the other patrons.
Kendall did a great Job! She was polite and helpful with menu and drink choices. We will be back! Loved the absolute stress! Thank you for making our evening extra special! Kendall is the best give this girl a raise! Food: 5/5

Best, freshest seafood from the Gulf and only a 35 minute drive from Dauphin Island! Do not miss the opportunity to go to The Mariner Restaurant in Mobile, AL! We are staying on Dauphin Island and were looking for a nice seafood dinner for our party of 6. NO LUCK on the island as you either needed a reservation at one location, be willing to eat outdoors in the 102* heat index or the restaurants were just plain closed down. My nephew did some searching on Google and found The Mariner Restaurant and we were so glad he did!! The Mariner is wonderful from the ambiance, servers make sure to ask for Karli if she is available--she is a real peach!, hostesses, bar staff, kitchen staff and everyone else I may have missed. But the real star of the night was the food! Portions are perfect for the price and the seafood fantastic, fresh and straight from the Gulf! We also ordered the fried pickle chips as an appetizer and they were the best, most crispy dill chips I have ever had. I would recommend The Mariner Restaurant 10 times over and we will definitely be going back for another visit!!!! Your visiting friends from Indiana.
