At Grand Prairie Foods, we take pride in our ability to work with you as though we were standing in your kitchen. We understand that everyone has unique needs and ideas that must be reflected in the products that are marketed to your clients.
Grand Prairie Foods was founded in September 2003 when Kurt & Valerie Loudenback purchased the assets of a longtime producer of barbequed ribs, shredded pork and beef, and other fully cooked, ready to eat meat items. We continued to produce various fully cooked meat oriented items until 2006.
The Company’s capabilities have evolved with changing market conditions and opportunities.
The previous company purchased several Rheon encrusting machines and produced stuffed biscuits, primarily sausage & gravy filled buttermilk biscuits. While they exited that business in the late 1990’s, Grand Prairie Foods resurrected the stuffed biscuit line in 2004 and has created new items that are being sold into the convenience store, vending, school and hotel markets. Much of the company R&D focus is in the category of protein and dough used together to create unique new products that consumers enjoy as great tasting, convenient items.
In 2004, the company purchased its first Rheon KN400 encruster. This acquisition allowed us to further develop our stuffed sandwich and biscuit lines. In 2005, the company created a stuffed sandwich called John Dough (www.johndough.com), which can be found in convenience stores and other grab & go
venues across the country.
In 2005, we began a sandwich assembly process. This assembly line allows us to build breakfast sandwiches, sub-style sandwiches, deli sandwiches and burgers. When possible, we incorporate the outstanding John Dough technology into the dough of these sandwiches. All of these items are individually wrapped through flow wrappers. Labels can also be applied for retail sales. Finally, finished products can be further packaged into retail boxes on an ADCO cartoner.
