My children attended Grassroots Free School for many years, and now my grandchildren go there.  The school is a small, supportive school where there is good adult supervision and everyone feels very safe.  Would be happy to discuss the school with any interested party.  It is founded on the principles of participatory democracy, and allows children and their parents to choose their educational paths. Love it!  Love it!  Love it!

I have been a part of Grassroots Free School for ten years. My husband went there as a child and now our three children have been blessed to attend as well. I wish I went to a school like Grassroots when I was a child, a place where children are respected, heard, supported, and encouraged, a place where democracy is taught at the age of five, a place where everyone is equal and everyone has a voice that counts. When you trust children to learn at their own pace it is amazing how they flourish. Forcing education only takes the love of learning away. By the way, it is very sad that people, for no reason at all, spread such lies and negativity in a world that really needs more honesty and appreciation among human beings. Thank You Grassroots for all you do!

I attended Grassroots from K-8th grade and now send my own young child there. The teachers are caring and supportive. The space is beautiful and full of opportunities for the children to experience nature. It was and continues to be a wonderful experience for me and my child.

My son attends Grassroots and we love it.  He had trouble adjusting to the public schools.  He felt very frustrated and unable to sit behind a desk for long periods of time.  Since he was not a troublemaker, he was mostly ignored.  At one point the school considered holding him back, as he didn't complete all of his work, even though they acknowledged that he understood his school work. Once they got his standardized test scores back, they said that they couldn't hold him back because they were so high.  At Grassroots, he learns by taking control of his day.  I have a degree in elementary education from FSU and I have no concerns about his safety or his growth.

I attended Grassroots as a child K-8th grade and now my own child goes there. Grassroots is full of lovely, kind, and supportive people.

Love the concept that Grassroots follows for their educational model. My son can be a child here, no pressure, freedom to make his own choices.

This school has helped my daughter so much. I'm so greatful for it's existence! It's nice to know what real school spirit feels like.

I have a Bachelor's degree in School Social Work, and Grassroots is the only school I trust with my children.

Great people who respect children, as people.  A fine place for kids to learn the most important things in life.

Derpella Hoover that's a total lie. This is an amazing school and nothing like that ever happened there.
