I had one of the best times with my son, niece, nephews and my Mother at our 3 day stay at Great Wolf Lodge. The atmosphere and activities were amazing and the children loved everything they could do. Really a place for the whole family to have a blast. Now this is not 5 stars because there was really a big flaw with the place. They are pretty greedy almost to an absurd level. You have already paid well over 600 dollars to be there for two nights and they have several things for everyone to do that do not cost anything. But if there is anything on their grounds that you have to pay for, I would just be prepared to hear some of the most ridiculous prices for whatever it is you are looking for. They had a small gift shop which was fine. We checked it out and found a small candy shop area in it with gummy worms and assorted candy. The children wanted some so we go to the desk and get a small 8 oz. or less cup to fill with candy. When we go back to the desk to pay is when you find out that this small cup of the same candy you can get at most gas stations for a dollar is going to cost you $18 before tax. And that is just one example of the several things like that you will be exposed to. So I had a great time and in the end paid greatly for it.
Overall, a 5 star two nights. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. The indoor water park was warm, well maintained and clean. The kids had a blast. The whole family loved the bowling. Negatives: The air conditioner unit in the room was so loud, and so was the fan in the bathroom. The rewards for the arcade were pretty skimpy with not many choices. The water park was enjoyable, but my 3 year was upset she couldn't ride any of the bigger rides including the family raft one.
Fun place for bigger kids. My son is 4 and wanted to do some of the other rides but was just too short. I think their height requirements are a little crazy. Fun activities for the kids. Never had any hot water or a warm shower the entire time I was here. They had an issue with the hot water. Very overpriced. I’m glad the kids had fun but I can honestly say I would want to come back.
I had a great time with my grand kids. They stayed in the pools and slides. They didn't want to come out. I can't wait until they re-open the dinner buffet. It's so much more kid friendly. The staff was very friendly. I can't wait until my grand kids get old enough to enjoy the magic quests. The older kids were loving it.
The kids enjoyed it a lot. The staff was with one exception EXTREMELY friendly, helpful, upbeat, and professional. Unfortunately during our visit it was very, very crowded. 20-25 minute wait for the large slides and basically standing room only in the wave pool. The rooms were adequate, clean, and staff responded very quickly to our requests for more towels and cups. I also have to say it's a very expensive endeavor. Obviously you know the costs up front and it's somewhat expected given the huge facility and large amount of staff it takes to keep in running. However, it was disappointing that all the little extra games and such laser tag, bowling, rock mining, arcades, scavenger hunt, etc all cost extra. We will probably go again when the kids are a little older but given the cost and crowds it won't be a regular thing for us. Still, we enjoyed the stay and the staff!
Great place for a family trip where you don’t have to worry about your kids being kids. The staff was outstanding. From housekeeping to lifeguards, everyone was super friendly and very kid centric. The beds were nice enough. The activities were fun for our kids ages 2 and 5 but probably better serve 5-12 year olds. Two things I wish they would do… 1 more kid activities in the morning. Most things don’t open until 10 but most kids are up at 6. There’s a big gap of trying to fill time which inevitably leads to screen time. 2 the buffet restaurant was a waste of space. No one was eating there but people had pizzas spread out all over the hotel since there is no place to eat there. Flip the spaces or put something modern parents want to feed their kids. The burger and chicken places were great and hit the kids but you can only eat that food so much.
Terrible experience! My daughter wanted to go here for her birthday. So we arrive and we had an issue with checking in took way longer than needed. After that we go to the room and the door is already ajar. Talk about security issue. We ordered the top birthday package for her and the room wasn't decorated at all. They arrived 45 min after check in and dropped off some balloons and a poster for the door and the best part for the 4 of us we got 1 plate, 3 cups and 4 napkins. We also received 2 vouchers for pizza and birthday cake. We get the pizza and it was pretty decent and then we go to pick the cake up and my daughter wanted chocolate and surprise surprise they don't have any just vanilla... so we decide to use the $40 card at the arcade where some games worked and some didn't. We had well Over 500 tickets and used the ticket counting machine and it counted 49 tickets so we tell the staff it's broken it counted the tickets wrong and they reply "it happens" didn't do anything about it. This was a really terrible experience. I don't see us coming back anytime soon. Save your money and spend your vacation elsewhere.
This place is undeniably pricey, but my kids have the time of their lives. It's worth saving for a night or two away from reality. They really go the extra mile to plan events and activities kids are sure to love in addition to the awesome water attractions. I also love that it's located near a ton of food restaurants so that my husband and I can get delicious take out while the kids feast on the Lodge pizza.
Our family has been eager to visit a Great Wolf Lodge for years. We actually thought we'd visit while we lived in NJ as there was one close by in PA. But it took moving to NC to finally get us inside. Thankfully this past Christmas family gifted our girls gift-cards to help them experience it. That same family was coming to visit us last month and we decided why not enjoy and experience it all together. We all did full day passes just to experience the water park. We went on a Monday expecting it not to be as busy. It actually was but it's also summer and the kids are out of school so expected. Staff is very friendly. The indoor water area is very nice and the slides are awesome. Kids and adults had a blast! The outdoor pool area also very nice with lots of seating and umbrellas. We were a group of 11 and all sat and felt comfortable while still being a good amount away from others. It was lunch time and the food was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Some had burgers and fries while others ate tenders and fries. It started to thunder and lightening so we had to bring it inside. At that point we were all tired and started to clean up to head home. We stopped at the gift shop bought a few things and were on our way. It really was a great time! I appreciate you all offering day passes now as we thought we'd never experience your water park as we weren't really interested in an overnight. We hope to visit again soon.
Our first visit I 2019 was amazing. It reminded be of a cruise but on land. We had a blast and the breakfast, lunch and dinner options were great. We just went back and they had move some areas around which wasn't a big deal but strange to me. We still had fun but there seemed like fewer options. One example was the prizes at the arcade got worse. My son got 1000 or so points on our first trip and he came home with multiple Ryan's toys and a few cheap arcade toys. This time he had 600 points and the toy selection is pretty much all cheap toys unless you have a lot more points. Just not the same bang for your buck. The room was good like last time. The food was not. The pizza sits on the warmer and looks bad, unless you pay a big price for a tiny fresh one. The sit down restaurant was out of food items on the lunch and dinner menu. They gave bad service for dinner our order was wrong, late and cold. We went to breakfast and I noticed the omelet bar was not there. We enjoy the omelets but they didn't have it for our last trip. Our experience was just not the same as before so a removed a star.
