Description

Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center is an indoor rock climbing facility and adventure guide service located in the Rutland area. Our walls stand 25' tall and have 30 top roping stations spread over 8,000 square feet of indoor climbing. Staff members provide skilled instruction ranging from first time beginners to specialized clinics, and all rental equipment (shoes and harnesses) is provided. We also have a guide service that offers year-round guiding of human-powered recreation in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. Stop in today or contact us for more information!



"Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center and Vermont Adventure Tours are an indoor climbing gym and outdoor guiding service. The indoor gym features multiple climbs, a boulder cave, and a party loft for booked Birthday Parties. School climbing teams, Adult League, and fitness programs are all things we offer in addition to being open to the general public.Outdoor adventures include summer camps from June through August, team building, guided rock climbing, ice climbing, snowshoeing, and paddling!"

We are so so thankful to have such an amazing climbing gym locally! We hadn't been climbing in quite a while, but came in to climb yesterday with some new friends, and we all felt so welcomed! The staff is so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The owner, Steve, is passionate about climbing and is intentional about making everyone feel welcome, newcomers and old-timers alike! The routes are unique and diverse across all skill levels. The whole experience is just great. Check it out, you'll have a great time!
Fun gym with friendly staff. Routes are set well, and we always have a great time there. Steve is passionate about climbing and promoting climbing in the Rutland area.
I dropped in to get some climbing in for the first time in six years while on vacation in the area. It was a great experience. The bouldering cave had some great routes and the top roping area was a great time. The staff was friendly and generous with their time, even though it was quite busy when I was there. I highly recommend getting some climbing in here if you're in the area.
Got off the Appalachian Trail to go climbing! The staff was so welcoming and chatted with us about our hike. It was nice to know we weren't just customers and I even saw the owner a few days later and he remembered my name. That means a lot! Good vibes, good climbing, good people.
This place is awesome! We were on our way home from a track meet when our bus broke down. Thankfully we stopped next to Green Mountain Rock Climbing. They gave us a great discount and we spent our time climbing. The staff was awesome and gave a very informative lesson. The walls seemed to have a variety of difficulties so that everyone could have fun. I definitely recommend Green Mountain Rock Climbing and next time I’m in the area I plan to stop in. Small bouldering area, walls about 12 ft but the routesetting is super creative and utilizes the space well! Super helpful staff.
Great locally owned facility. Just asking community work super friendly and welcoming. Love climbing it gyms like this. We travel through to Killington on a regular basis and it's a quick drive to come back to Rutland to be able to climb for a couple hours with the family.
Steve and Sherry run a fantastic business. You can expect to have a safe, happy and welcoming experience at the gym. If you have never tried rock climbing you should stop by and give it try. There is something there for everyone from beginner to advanced. I have been a member there in the past, have other family members that are members and enjoy working with GMRCC as one of our contractors for our afterschool program. They have been quick to respond, flexible and accommodating to my many requests for programming and provide the children with a safe, fun place to learn and most importantly to grow. If you are interested in a fun and challenging time while working with a terrific cast of people look no further than the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center and Vermont Adventure tours!
Absolutely amazing climbing gym. I have traveled all over the country and climbed at at many gyms but nothing compares to the GMRCC. The walls may not be as high as other gyms but the route setting and style set the climbing experience far above any other gyms I’ve climbed at. The slant and features on the walls allow you to climb on slab, overhanging features and stem out all you want. GMRCC is by far the closest you will get to the feel of an outdoor climb. The Staff is superb, the vibes are immaculate. These smaller local gyms are the heartbeat of the climbing community. Can’t recommend this place enough!
“Enter as strangers, leave as friends.” This is the sign hanging above the gym door and it couldn’t be more accurate. This is the most welcoming gym I’ve ever been too and I’ve climbed all over the country. Thank you, Steve, for the hospitality and the wonderful afternoon. The climbs were fun, the company was even better!
