Had a truly enchanting experience at Grotonwood this week. The accomodations are so cozy with REAL fireplaces in almost every room. And let me just tell you, the food was something else! Seriously, some of the best cafeteria food I have EVER had. The staff and cook are all so friendly. Highly recommend this place to everyone who's interested in the retreat center of a lifetime.
Growing up I did multiple weeks at this incredible campgrounds. Starting at 10 years old up until I was about 16 I did 2 or 3 week long visits and have had nothing but the best to say about the staff, the grounds and the experience. I wish I could go back I’m almost 40 now. If you have children and are a Christian I highly recommend giving Grotonwood a shot. The chapel is beautiful and small, the ponds is a great way to beat the heat and the foods actually really good. Mix it up with a trip to the water park or an afternoon bike ride. Or get some excitement with a game in the woods. I was terrified the first night, it was my first time away from home with strangers but Mark the head counselor at the time buddies up with me helping me to be more comfortable. Every day spent there after the first night was a gift. Am I rambling?… I’m rambling. Take care folks
Summer at Grotonwood is AWESOME. They run Day Camp grades k-8 and Overnight camp grades 2-12 kids but also an adults with disabilities summer camp which is thee best. I've never known such an affirming and caring community of people that provide such an inclusive program for all. They also offer retreat and conferencing spaces in the off season and are a host site for Nature's Classroom which is a nature-rich education program for schools. The grounds are breathtaking, they have woods, trails, waterfront on Lost Lake with a beach in the summer, a gymnasium, a gorgeous log cabin chapel, huge dining hall and so much more. Long may the mission of Grotonwood continue to touch so many souls.
Very nice facilities! I was here for a music retreat and the place was more than adequate. It’s super clean, the staff is very friendly, and it overall has a very nice vibe. I would definitely recommend Grotonwood for your larger events or retreats. Overall, 9/10 will definitely come again.
Wonderful place for kids camp and church retreats, we loved it. Beautiful location on a lake.
Went for a private retreat. The facilities were clean and comfortable. Many thanks to Chef Dan, the food awesome!
Camp Groton wood was awesome! We went for the open house and tour of the camp... They have a little bit more work to do as far as maintenance which they are working on but it should be ready by summer and I love their heart for God the staff were super friendly and happy... enjoyable to be around! Great place for kids to learn more about God as they enjoy themselves with their new friends
Grotonwood was clean, well prepared, Covid ready. Food was superb. Blanchard Hall was, again delightful. Weather was great. We got to have an evening campfire on the beach. Our program was excellent and well-planned. Of course, we did that and not Grotonwood, but the weekend was just great because great things came together.
This place provides the perfect opportunity for church families to retreat and worship God together. The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are clean and updated. We will find a way to get back here again.
I'm 51 years old and a Marine Corps Vet I spent my childhood in foster care so I don't have a lot of good memories from my childhood. Camp Grotowood, however, is one of the greatest memories of mine. I remember crying when it was time to leave. I was part of something bigger than me for the first time. I was family! Please reward your child to experience something that will build the best in us. God Because God is love.
