Decent gym with plenty of equipment. I gave three stars because it closes too early. How does a main gym close an hour and a half after people are released from work? That does not make any sense to me, especially when the gym was still crowded and the employee was having to kick people out.
I've been to this gym for about a week and it's never too packed to get a workout in, even during regular PT hours. As far as Army post gyms go, this one is better then average with plenty of room, weights and machines. The facility itself, and a portion of the equipment, is showing its age, but does not prevent one from getting a good solid workout in. Physical Fitness uniforms are required between 0630-0800 for all active duty SMs
This is a decent facility with great, brand new equipment in the main strength conditioning area. It's also nice they gave the CrossFitters their own area so we don't have to watch their nonsense. My only complaint is that the front men's room is always disgusting and smells like urine constantly. There are so many O3s running around... Grab a few of them and have them clean the latrines if the staff aren't going to do it. There's usually a couple of them in the latrines taking pictures of themselves anyway, so might as well make them useful.
Best gym in the Army. Period. And that’s coming from a career of SOF gyms.
Today's the first time I've been in two plus years since the mask mandate was lifted this week. Great resource, equipment, etc but hours NEED to get back to normal. Closing at 1700 and 1800 is not helpful for much of anyone. I would happily take advantage of the 24/7 access option but I don't have a CAC any longer. I haven't used the bikes pictured but is a great brand and a nicer version of what I did use at a YMCA. They do have SPD pedals. The tread next to the elliptical is very loud, I'm wondering if all three are older/on the way out.
Great gym, never feels overly busy. Always clean with a lot of options.
This is a great facility. Some of the equipment is a little dated but the team works to maintain it as best they can. The policy to clear out at closing time and then swipe back in for after hours access doesn't make a ton of sense though. If the staffed hours will a little bit longer in the evening then it may not be as big of a problem. This really most impacts those that come TDY for a short timeframe.
Solid gym with plenty of equipment and space. Lacks adequate water stations so make sure you bring a water bottle.
24/7 with registration, better then what you expect from an mwr gym
When I got there this morning the water had been off for over 24 hours. The commodes were all full.. Employees were without drinking water or bathroom facilities. The sign on the door said no water until further notice. There was no water to clean up an accident. I called the Garrison commander's office and the water was back on within an hour. Thank you for such quick action on the part of the Garrison commander's office. But I do not think employees should have been made made to work in a building with no water for all day yesterday. And if I hadn't called the Garrison commander's office who knows how long that situation would have gone on.
