A nice facility with nice equipment completely ruined by abysmal hours and a wretched after-hours system. You have to set up an appointment to get after-hours access. Annoying but doable. But this insane process of kicking everyone out of the gym at 1750, just so they can sign back in one at a time renders this place a burden. You are better served finding non-government resource. The Army fails its soldiers again.
This is my go-to gym on base! It may look old on the outside, but don’t let it deceive you because the equipment is new and this place has everything you need! Staff are always friendly and willing to help if needed. The locker rooms are a little out of date but the staff make sure it’s as clean as possible. It can get pretty crowded during lunch time, but I have seen a lot worse. There is no pool at this location, but they do have a lot of equipment for heavy lifting and those people who like to do that CrossFit stuff. Even though I always wear my own headphones it would be nice if they had some music playing every day for those random days I forget mine. Other than that this place is a great spot to get your lift on!
I've been to this gym for about a week and it's never too packed to get a workout in, even during regular PT hours. As far as Army post gyms go, this one is better then average with plenty of room, weights and machines. The facility itself, and a portion of the equipment, is showing its age, but does not prevent one from getting a good solid workout in. Physical Fitness uniforms are required between 0630-0800 for all active duty SMs
Today's the first time I've been in two plus years since the mask mandate was lifted this week. Great resource, equipment, etc but hours NEED to get back to normal. Closing at 1700 and 1800 is not helpful for much of anyone. I would happily take advantage of the 24/7 access option but I don't have a CAC any longer. I haven't used the bikes pictured but is a great brand and a nicer version of what I did use at a YMCA. They do have SPD pedals. The tread next to the elliptical is very loud, I'm wondering if all three are older/on the way out.
Equipment is great. Cleanliness is not. Lots of hair over the floors, mats, and around the machines.
Decent gym with plenty of equipment. I gave three stars because it closes too early. How does a main gym close an hour and a half after people are released from work? That does not make any sense to me, especially when the gym was still crowded and the employee was having to kick people out. Update: 15 Jul 2024. No change.
24/7 access to fitness and great equipment. What's not to love? This place is great with it's cardio, free weights, and functional fitness areas.
This is a decent facility with great, brand new equipment in the main strength conditioning area. It's also nice they gave the CrossFitters their own area so we don't have to watch their nonsense. My only complaint is that the front men's room is always disgusting and smells like urine constantly. There are so many O3s running around... Grab a few of them and have them clean the latrines if the staff aren't going to do it. There's usually a couple of them in the latrines taking pictures of themselves anyway, so might as well make them useful.
This is the best gym with awesome equipment. The vibe is a big part of why I go.
Best gym in the Army. Period. And that’s coming from a career of SOF gyms.
