The department of Campus Safety is an accredited law enforcement agency responsible for the protection of life and property on GSW State University campus.
We at the Department of Public Safety are here to assist you, in making your time here, safe and enjoyable. As an active part of the University experience we attempt to do all that is possible to build an environment that promotes a feeling of safety and security. The Department of Public Safety is a state certified law enforcement agency, responsible for the protection of life and property on Georgia Southwestern State University Campus. The department operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
The primary mission of the Georgia Southwestern State University Public Safety Department is twofold in that it is:
1. To provide a safe environment conducive to the enhancement of the academic needs of the campus community. This part of the mission shall be accomplished by Public Safety providing twenty-four (24) hour security coverage to the lives and properties of the Georgia Southwestern State University campus community.
2.To provide educational programs relevant to the reduction of crime on a University campus.
