I've been seeing Dr. Thurmond for a few years and I have always had a good experience with him. He takes his time, answers your questions and addresses your concerns, and is very personable. Their techniques and equipment are up-to-date, the facility is beautiful, the front desk ladies are kind and pleasant, and the techs are a dream to work with.
I love coming to Guilford Eye Center for my eye appointment. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable, kind and patient. The office is clean and spacious. I love their new location. Also, I always feel a sense of peacefulness in this office.
I was very pleased with my annual eye exam. The team at Guilford Eye Center was very professional, thorough, and informative. I appreciate the time that the optical department spent with me to ensure that I found glasses I would like. If you are looking for an eye doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Wood and staff.
I have been going to Guilford Eye Center for many years and Dr. Thurman is one of the best eye doctors I’ve ever seen. The staff is always nice and friendly. My only complaint is the cost of the frames, you could probably find the same ones somewhere else cheaper.
This was my first visit. The Eye Center is very professionally decorated, bright and clean. The Eye Care Assistant was very good. The Dr I saw was pretty much the best I’ve seen. Thorough and thoroughly answered all questions and concerns. On the improvement opportunity side: I arrived 15 minutes early and waited 20 additional minutes to be seen. When first taken back you are in an open and common area that seems impersonal and very noisy. Then when taken back for my Drs visit, I waited approximately 15 minutes for an exam room to open. Following the exam, I was led to the area where you can select glasses but again I waited and ultimately asked to leave. My eyes were dilated but was never apprised that it was anything more than eye drops. I would prefer to be briefed on what was happening along the way. This was the reason I didn’t shop for glasses as I was getting a head up from the bright lights with dilated eyes. Summary. Very thorough Doctor. Too much waiting.
I always enjoy Dr. Wood. Staff is very thorough. I like that they explain each aspect of what they are doing. The wait time is very minimal. I wasn't able to find a frame that "I" liked or fit to my satisfaction. I still give them 5 stars.
Eventhough I was late getting seen in the back. I was able to wait patiently due to the quick check in. They was ready for me. Once I was in the back, Ashley got me going and in quick to see Dr. Thurmond. Dr Thurmond is great and I love that he is more concerned with your overall health that affects your eyes too. Highly recommend as your eye care provider.
The staff was very friendly. The equipment use was really “State of The Art” Like advertised on there website. They have a fine selection of glass. I can’t wait for my next appointment.
First time at this eye center. Testing seemed detailed. Was getting glasses and contacts updated. Last glasses and contacts was 2019. Bought glasses here that were ordered. Was given free contacts to try before ordering. If not pleased, can try others for free. Was given 30 % discount on eye glasses since my insurance and Medicare only covers for eye exam. Overall pleased. Person fitting me with glasses was ver helpful and patient.
I have been a patient of this practice for years and started taking my children. After the recent visit for my son, however, we will be moving our entire family and will not return. Ever. We did not even finish the appointment for my son due the inappropriate comments made by the provider. Everyone is entitled to their personal opinions, but when it comes to providing insight on something of their specialty, especially on topics that are sensitive for families the provider that we saw should really take time to reconsider her words and approach. I have never been so disappointed in a provider experience.
