Gulfport Police Explorers

Very grateful for Gulfport police department last night. During Cruising the Coast, someone had hit and ran a SUV then proceeded to come onto the sidewalk almost hitting our precious daughter along with 2 other children. They had the person apprehended in the matter of 15 mins of our report. This matter was taken seriously and without a beat in the middle of all the traffic had the person apprehended. We owe so much to this police department due to their fast acting and dignity they upheld. To the Supervisor of this department and to all the police department, thank you for giving this family some peace and justice! No one should have to watch their child almost get killed and the person get away. Thank you for the dignity your police officer hold in justice and safety.

Do not call, or go up to the police station because they will not do a report even though you were threat. The officer was nice but that is it. They will not come running to help you. So don't call them. They will tell you to put a no trespassing sign up,but some landlords will not let you put it up. My life my family and friends were threaten and the person mother came and beat on my boyfriend mother. That should tell you everything.

Negative 5 stars. Trash department. Would not call if my life depended on it. Guess it is fine to wave a gun around because all you have to say is you felt threatened. Try to call and talk to "someone in charge" and they are rude as hell to you. Don't bother calling if you feel threatened because you'll be dead before they show up.

If you are dealing with domestic violence, count your days because they will NOT protect you. Imagine being a woman dealing with a hostile, abusive husband and the police tell you and your minor kids to leave the house. Me and my children had to sleep in the car while the abuser was able to stay.

Been in Gulfport the last 3mths they're very nonchalant an lazy. Come knock on your door at 1:00 in the morning asking for driving license etc

I work off Highway 49 and every time I picked up material and went to 49 Officer had cars pulled over speed trapping people by Robinwood One Stop. Speed trapping people especially in these hard times isn’t bravery I wish there was someone to call to move him

I can not believe the lack of respect given to a disabled veteran who needed help.

I am a new resident to Gulfport. I called the GPD twice to report suspicious vehicles in my neighborhood. I live close to 90A and there is a lot of vacant property around my home. Both times that I called, the response time was less than 5 minutes. The officers that I spoke to were very professional and seemed genuinely concerned. I felt very confident that the situation was handled in the proper manner. Thank you Gulfport PD!

Man, they Long Beach PD and GPD have stopped me more times than I care to mention but sometimes, LBPD made me laugh about the situation. They do their jobs, they are kind to my grandchildren and they come prepared. I don't have any bad words to say about LBPD and I come from a place that I don't like cops. LBPD changed my attitude... about Long Beach anyway. I'm still shell shocked when it comes to GPD. They have treated me like a common criminal when all I did was allegedly run a red light. Went to court for it and the judge was on a power trip... she gave me the weekend in jail or so she thought plus a thousand to bail out on a traffic ticket! I don't do drugs so when it took 5 burly police officers to escort me to jail I was afraid for my life. I only weighed 140 pounds and I'm 5ft 10in. I was made to strip in the holding area because someone upstairs said I was a dude. A dude! Where they do that at? I think more anything they were still on a power trip or just wanted to see my vagina cause I was and still am a girl, a female, a chick, a woman. I made this review thinking it was for LBPD. My horror when I saw Gulfport's name on the review. I don't have no love for them. Nope, sorry. The way they treated me and my family was deplorable. I wish I could contact the people who saw this a thousand times so they could read the correction. Goodness, gots to be more careful.

There’s no such thing as a good police officer but the ones in Gulfport are the lowest in the world.
