In 1994 a group of concerned local citizens caught the Habitat sprit and established Pasadena Habitat For Humanity, Inc. as the local affiliate of Habitat.

Conventional wisdom holds that a family should pay no more than 30 percent of its income on shelter, yet 250,000 Texas families pay half or more of household income for shelter.
