I love shopping at Half-Price Books for books, but their video games have since then, gotten pretty pricey. Half-Price Books has a nicer atmosphere during the weekdays. The weekends, it is just hectic and loud in there, despite being a bookstore. If you're in town and want a good book for half off, come here. However, if you're a video game collector, or a casual gamer, do not buy games here! Avoid it!
One extremely rude lady! My sons went in to turn some books in and they got turned away for being under 18. one of them didnt have their ID so they had came back to the store to sell and the second time we came back the lady was extremely rude and condescending again! shes got a sour attitude and at one point another coworker had to step in and talk to them more politely but the deed had already been done. Its such awful customer service for her to treat young adults that way. the rest of the store was very nice. Well kept and generally friendly staff. the cafe workers are nice as well! Everyone was very helpful even at the sale counter except for Brenda. she was the rudest woman to have ever disrespected my children and i will not be coming back. To Brenda please have an attitude check.
I have been coming here since I was a little kid. Always a pleasant experience. Great prices and some awesome finds if you know where to look. I always try to go there anytime I'm in Corpus. The coffee shop inside is the cherry on top! Check it out.
Some prices were extra high, for it to be half priced books. Many interesting things. Calming environment. Workers friendly/ some worker putting books on the shelf his shirt would lift up and pants were to low...i had to move my kids out the section,disturbing. The ONLY DISLIKE is the need to sell satanic books and have them placed near the small children and preteen section.
Idk if this place got a new manager or something but prices here have gone downhill bad. They are trying to sell torn books at 0 discount because “there is few left”. These books are mass produced there is a bunch on ebay in better condition and for cheaper. Stay far from here if you’re a book lover. Either buy new at B&N or used on ebay. You'll be getting a better price and better condition one way or another
First, I would like to start off with the staff. There are so polite, so helpful. I love the fact that it doesn’t feel like some kind of corporate store makes it feel like it is a down to earth place and a stress, free environment. Love this place.
They have a great selection of books and great prices. While you're there, don't forget to check out their clearance selection. I bought a lot of books just for a dollar.
Always enjoy going into the half price bookstore the cashiers are always so family and willing to help and the coffee is excellent and the prices are definitely good have been going there for years already always come out finding something good no matter if you're looking for cookbooks scientific information books for children books for adults calendars all kinds of goodies in the store and it really good prices
They only give you a quarter or less for the books you bring in and they charge full price for a lot of the books they sell they are definitely not a half price bookstore watch out I can buy new books for a dollar more than what I’m paying for used books with them
Prices for books are fine, but the credit for trading is pathetic. A book I bought from them for $8 was worth a buck. I may buy here on rare occasions, but I won't be trading back in, and will find a different bookstore in future
