Welcome and thank you for visiting Hamilton Township's official Facebook page!
Our beautiful community of neighborhoods, which is comfortably spread over 40-square miles and located in the heart of central New Jersey’s Mercer County, is currently the 9th largest town in the state and home to nearly 90,000 residents. Although that might categorize us nationally as a small city, our wonderful suburban township enjoys a small town feel. As our township motto says, we are “America’s Favorite Hometown!”
In 2012, our community enjoyed some great honors. Hamilton Township was featured by ‘Profiles with Terry Bradshaw’ – hosted by the former Pittsburg Steelers quarterback and current NFL commentator with Fox Sports – as one of our country’s “Hidden Gems” and noted as “a great place to live, work and play.”
Also is 2012, Hamilton Township was rated 3rd in New Jersey and 75th in the nation by CNN/Money Magazine’s ranking of the country’s best small cities.
Hamilton is a special hometown where it is not uncommon to find generations of families living within our community of neighborhoods. Our landscape is nestled with over 64 parks and playgrounds that include our 350-acre Veterans Park, the beautiful Sayen Botanical Gardens and acres of preserved open space.
Each year, our residents and visitors across the region come together to celebrate our special community events, such as at our annual Azalea Festival held on Mother’s Day, our Independence Day Fireworks and Concert celebration, SeptemberFest community day, our annual Fall Harvest Festival and our Winter Wonderland celebration. Additionally, we are also home to a nationally renowned Senior Center, a fantastic Public Library, and a great public school system along with several recreational opportunities for residents to enjoy.
And even beyond these great events and offerings, Hamilton Township is the setting for several historic homes and sites, a Civil War and Native American Museum that features Civil War exhibits and Delaware Indian artifacts, the nationally acclaimed Grounds for Sculpture, a 40-acre sculpture park and its accompanying Sculptures Along the Way, which are sprinkled across our landscape.
Hamilton Township enjoys a prime location – resting within an hour’s drive of New York City, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore. The New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate’s 195 and 295, US Highways 130 and 206, along with State Highways 33 and 29 all pass through Hamilton. Our fully developed infrastructure is highlighted by a very convenient and attractive train station.
And when you visit, be sure to stop by one of our several retail shopping destinations, movie theaters, and taste what our terrific restaurants and dining establishments have to offer – earning us the title of
the “Restaurant Capital of Mercer County.”
If you are from outside of our community, not only do we encourage you to frequently visit our Facebook page and our Township website (www.HamiltonNJ.com), but also come and visit our community in person!
