This page is dedicated to the Hammond Outdoor Drive-In Theater in Hammond, IN that existed from 1949-84.
For those pre-Baby Boomers to young future Gen Xers, the Hammond 41 Outdoor Drive-In Theater was the place where folks from all around the Southeast Side of Chicago and Northwest Indiana convened yearly on the weekends to watch 3 features on a weekend night from spring through fall. During its 35-year existence, the 41 had 2 screens (the second screen was added in the early 70’s), a concession stand and a playground between parking and the screen. You are welcomed to share memorabilia or personal memories about your experiences at the 41.
