Beware people traveling with a car, pet owners, and vegetarians! Do not stay there! Hampton Inn did not honor their own given pet feet and charged more after the stay. The hotel staff was nice but Hampton Inn as a company was horrible. We were told that the pet fee would be $50 by the front desk person, but when we checked our CC bill, we were charged $75. We tried to call their customer service and, of course, it was outsourced to some call center that was really bad, did not solve our problem and did not honor what was told to us at the hotel. Totally horrible guest service. Good luck if you have an issue and will need to complain. In addition to that, you pay over $40 extra per day for parking, and there were no truly vegetarian options for breakfast. Never staying there again! If I were you, I wouldn't risk it either. Edit: The reply from Hampton Inn makes it seem there was a misunderstanding or perhaps confusion. To be very clear: we asked explicitly and were told directly about the pet fee, and that the pet fee was $50. We did not confuse or misunderstood anything as a matter of fact we were told twice the pet fee was $50, once over the phone, and once in person at check-out. Their own website says the pet fee is $50-75 so there is a range. The problem is that they told us something repeatedly and did not honor it for some reason since again, their own rules would allow them to charge $50. The problem here is the lack of accountability. If an employee provided wrong information upon an information request from a guest, own up to it! We make decisions based on information you provided. Doesn't matter if you made a mistake and said something wrong, the decent thing to do is to make it right by the customer. A $25 difference for a one time mistake for Hilton is nothing. For a customer, it can make a huge difference.
Amazing location, close to the rock and roll hall of fame, playhouse district, rocket mortgage field house, and progressive field. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed on the 14th floor and had a little view of the lake, albeit obstructed. You do get some city noise of sirens and whatnot, but otherwise mostly quiet.Rooms: 5/5
Customer Service here is amazing! Great downtown location and the hotel offers affordability as a Hampton. Check-in was easy and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. We stayed in Room 1016 with a King Bed. Breakfast offerings were the traditional Hampton waffles, cold cereals, hot eggs, meat, bagels, breads, yogurt, fruit, and juices, etc. Valet is pricy at $42 a day but it's the city and I appreciated the convenience of it. Five stars across the board for me. I booked this hotel based on location and affordability and discovered a great hotel with amazing employees and staff. It really did exceed expectations. Rooms: We had a nice view of the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, downtown, and could even see a small part of Lake Erie off in the distance from the 10th floor. Walkability: Great downtown location and is very walkable not sure about winter. We walked to Public Square and the Flats and back.
Awesome location. Staff went above and beyond. Great view from room. The continental breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a while! Very satisfied with our stay, especially for the price! Would definitely recommend.Rooms: 5/5
No noise insulation. Enjoy listening to snoring from neighbors and the radio every car is listening to as it goes by. Bedding and other amenities are old and in poor condition. No bottled water provided with the room, 4$ per 16oz in the hotel lobby.Rooms: 1/5
Rooms are a bit outdated but the staff were all so friendly and the location can’t be beat. Dog friendly but do charge a $75 fee that we weren’t aware of until check out. Fitness center is on the smaller side but have some decent treadmills and also have a peloton.Rooms: 3/5
The hotel itself was fine. Nice and clean, decent breakfasts. The hotel staff were another story. Very rude, unaccommodating and stand off ish. On one occasion my wife and I had been walking around the city all day and came back to the hotel. The valet who was outside along with another attendant simply stared at us with no acknowledgment or greeting until my wife said something to them to make them say hi. Hotel employees are supposed to acknowledge guests; it’s part of working in hospitality. The same day we had noticed several bottles of bagged water behind the front desk. My wife inquired about them and was told they were for Hilton Honors Guests only. We told her I was an Honors Guest. She replied she had already given us our waters when we checked in. This was not the case as we were given no waters and that female individual had not checked us in. After some back and forth the employee replies “here just take it” Insinuating we were lying. On another occasion I was getting breakfast for my wife and I and I had two plates. I asked the front desk clerk if there were any kind of trays they could let me use so I didn’t have to make two trips. I was rudely told “nah sorry we don’t” No attempt to perhaps have a staff member help me. We are both very unhappy with the entire front desk staff. On several occasions I overheard them gossiping/complaining about guests IN FRONT OF GUESTS. I understand work can be frustrating but there’s a time and place. One bright note, the gentleman who is in charge of breakfast was extremely friendly and polite and talkative. I did enjoy mornings when he was there. Sadly though we will not be back to your establishment as we will not be treated as a burden or annoyance when spending hundreds of dollars to stay somewhere. Walkability: Many things are within walking distance
