We were the first Hampton Inn in San Diego, established in 1989. The owners lead the charge of the 100% guarantee and incredible guest satisfaction.

Description

Our Hampton Inn is in the heart of San Diego. 15 minutes from many of San Diego's tourist attractions such as Sea World, the Zoo, La Jolla, Wild Animal Park, Downtown, and San Diego's International Airport. We are also in a strong business district and truly appreciate our steady business clientele.

The owners here started the 100% guarantee and many of the renovation projects that Hilton has made into a brand standard. We pride ourselves on our focus on guest satisfaction. We also see that when our employees are happy, our guests are too.

We are so happy to be in San Diego and we hope you appreciate our goal to ensure that everyone who comes through our doors are treated as family.

I'm a business traveler and stay in hotels frequently. I have been to this property many times for a number of years and consistently have an above average experience. The rooms and facilities are always clean and well maintained and the team members are friendly and accommodating every time. The hotel is located in a convenient location and there is plenty of parking. During my most recent visit in mid November 2022 the front desk agent Tina was exceptionally accommodating, and happily took care of my extra requests with a welcoming smile. I dealt personally with one of the housekeepers who also went above and beyond to take care of a special need and did so promptly in a most pleasant manner. Highly recommended, I will definitely return!
It's an okay hotel, definitely just a place to sleep though and not a destination. There's a little pool and it's decent, plus I will say that the breakfast in the morning, while not even slightly fancy, has waffles, eggs, bacon, oatmeal and so forth, and is good enough to start your day with, especially if you're traveling for work. The rooms are alright. Small but clean, and the mattresses weren't the best but they were acceptable. If I have business at the base again in the future, I'll definitely consider it.
I stayed for 3 weeks. A really well run hotel. When traveling for government work I appreciate a hotel that understands tax exemption. Most hotels are always a fight. Hampton got it right. Room is fantastic. Internet works well. Breakfast was really good! Thanks for having me.
This hotel is very close to freeways, so it is convenient to drive around. Also has many good Asian restaurants nearby. However, two hundred dollars additional deposit to hotel should be paid for a deposit at check-in, which includes a parking fee of 10 dollars per day. The price of hotel cost almost 200 dollars per night when including parking, tax and some additional fee of California. I guess that this price is a kind of usual. The free breakfast is really minimal with scrambled eggs, yogurt, coffee, bread, and waffles. NO SOSAGES, NO BACON, NO FRUIT. This is the first hotel I found no meat and fruit at all. From the next day, there were sausages and some oranges or bananas. Yes it was minimal, but egg omelets were quite tasty. While it cost more than I originally thought, overall good hotel experience.
BEWARE!!! Stayed here for one night in May. We were charged $10 for lot parking and had over $4,000 of personal property stolen from our vehicle overnight. The area looks nice but it is not safe! It is riddled with property crime such as theft and vehicle theft. The hotel has no surveillance cameras or security whatsoever. The hotel knows this and they've taken 0 precautions to protect or alert their guests to this danger. Believe me, the criminals know these facts very well and you're vehicle and it's contents are easy prey at this hotel. Park in their fee paid lot and it's open season on your vehicle.
Clean rooms friendly staff. Safe area, right off the freeway. Complementary breakfast from 6am-9am. They had a good selection of food and drinks. Only tiny complaint, was the seating. Too many people there for breakfast and not enough seating/ available space.Rooms: 5/5
Upon arrival I was informed that they charge for parking and that it'd be taken out of my room deposit, this would make since if this was a parking garage in a downtown area however, a regular open parking lot on the outskirts of town during the off season is just asinine. Next I was informed that the wifi was down and that the router wouldn't be here until Monday after my stay as the hotel advertises free wifi as an amenity, some sort of discount should have been offered or at least a heads up should have been given before arrival. Finally, only one elevator was operational leaving long wait times, there was a letter in the room which detailed that the other elevator was broken but stated the part would arrive October 7th, I arrived October 21st and while I do understand with supply chain issues parts can often be hard to come by, I would have hoped they'd have updated the letter or given advance notice to guests about these issues. This hotel was severely lacking and for a comparable price I'd recommend any of the other Hilton brand hotels in the area.
Peter and Julio had great customer service. The continental breakfast was very good with an abundant selection. The room/hotel were clean.Rooms: 5/5
I love the people at the Hampton Inn, they always do the best they can for me to make my stay as comfortable as possible I would recommend it to my family, but not just to anybody. Especially in sandiego california they have alot of problem people here.. they can go where they go, and I'll go to the Hampton Inn. So I gave them a 5 star rating all accross the board. You will not be dissapointed.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The beds were horrible, the breakfast was out of almost everything and what was there was gross. The bathroom was horrible for an ADA person needing to shower as no chair to use.
