Hampton University Museum
Founded in 1868 and located in the heart of the historic Hampton University campus in Hampton, VA, our museum is a national treasure. The museum's collection features over 9,000 objects including African American fine arts, traditional African, Native American, Hawaiian, Pacific Island, and Asian art; and objects relating to the history of the University. Larger than any other museum in the country, is Hampton's collection of works from renowned African American artists such as John Biggers, Elizabeth Catlett, Jacob Lawrence, Richmond Barthe', and Samuella Lewis.
