Was able to get an appointment easily. Wendy did my massage. She asked me for any focus areas and concentrated on them. The amount of pressure was perfect and I have felt significant relief since the massage.
I was gifted a massage by my son for Father’s Day. I visited 6/18/2023. The front desk concierge was amazing. She was very nice and very pleasant. My massage, not as pleasant. The masseuse, an older lady brown hair, average height, greeted me, but never smiled and wasn’t very friendly. I’m not sure what was going on, whether she had long finger nails or a hang nail on both hands, but either way, she scratched my back with every stroke. It was horrible. I should’ve stopped her but instead I laid there HOPING it would get better. It didn’t. In addition, her stomach must’ve been “upset” because I had to listen to it rumbling coupled with her burping and blowing. When she turned me over on my back now face up on the table the burping and blowing continued but now, IT’S IN MY FACE!!! I left more tense than when I arrived. I didn’t want to cause her any issues and I didn’t want to upset my family by letting them know that the gift they gave me was a disaster. So I decided I’d leave and would find another way to let Hand and Stone know about my experience. I reached out to Hand and Stone through their website to give them my feedback. I provided all the information I’ve written here and sent it to them. To date, no one has reached out to me. I don’t get massages often, and this experience didn’t make me want to start going more. The unfriendly masseuse, the scratching, the upset stomach rumbling sounds and the burping shouldn’t have come with the service. And it’s horrible that no one got back to me to make some sort of amends. UPDATE: Finally received a call Tuesday, 7/25/2023, from “Monica” explaining that the masseuse I had during my service is their “…most requested…” and that she “…probably ate something that upset her tummy…”. She never apologized for her scratching me with her nails. Instead, she offered me $20.00 off of an “UPGRADED SERVICE” during my next visit which means they’d give me $20.00 off a more expensive massage package the next time I come in. WHAT??!! LOL!!! $20.00!! There was no apology whatsoever, just her continually telling me how great and how much this person is requested by others. I’ll tell you, some businesses don’t get it. The team member who gave me the massage isn’t a machine. Maybe she had an “off” day and wasn’t feeling well. I get it. But to offer no apology and instead tell me how great she is when I’m telling you my experience wasn’t GREAT, and then offer me $20 off a more expensive massage option, is like a big, Texas sized “F___ YOU”!!! Needless to say, these people won’t be seeing me again…and I’m CERTAIN they don’t care.
I had my very first facial here today and I will definitely be signing up for a monthly membership to make this my new go to spot. The young lady at the front desk was super friendly. Mimi did my facial and was amazing also! She was incredibly sweet. I’ve been to other places for facials where they can be harsh and pushy when it comes to up-selling. Mimi made recommendations based on my needs and made me feel like she just cared to help me to achieve the results that I want. The last place I went to, almost every time I went to pay, there would be 3-5 things they suggested I purchase. I even was criticized for refusing a service that was recommended at the last place I went to. I’m so happy to have found a new place I can go to! Thank you! Editing review to add: Today was my second time visiting this Hand and Stone location! I signed up to become a member after a great first visit. My first visit was with Mimi and she was fantastic. She was not available and I was hesitant on booking now or waiting for her to return. I had an equally great facial with Monica! Monica was incredible! She was super sweet also and I appreciate the fact that she also did not attempt to upsell me on a ton of products or upgrades but just did what was best for me. I also have to add.. her massage was SOOOO good. I live a very firm/stronger massage and was very impressed. Anyway, I just wanted to come back here to add much deserved kudos for Monica also. I’m so happy to be a member here.
I asked to cancel my account three months ago, but realized today I've been charged $10 each of the last three months without consent. Their billing practices seem deceptive. When I requested a refund, they refused. They could not provide corporate's number since locations are franchised. The owner's contact information remains unknown despite my inquiries. I am troubled that they continue billing canceled accounts and are unwilling to refund unauthorized charges or provide owner information when asked.
By the chance a interviewee is looking into reviews before interview here, I don't recommend coming for a interview let alone working here as the owner is very condescending and rude... If you do decide to ask questions tread lightly to avoid being belittled , and talk to like a child. Was really looking forward to working here but had to leave interview early due to how condescending the owner was. I tried to give benefit of doubt as the day before I had an interview schedule and the interviewer did not show up which signals some unprofessionalism. Also during interview the owner was talking about the next candidates whose appointments were upcoming.. while interviewing me.. smh just beware. I wish them luck and hope they treat their candidates better.
I absolutely loved my massage therapist Isabel! She was gentle and firm in the right places my neck,, shoulders, lower back and glutes neeed the firmer touch and my arms, hands and ankles needed the gentler touch. I feel relaxed. I'm also experiencing allergies and the eucalyptus aromatherapy has helped tremendously! I'm looking forward to coming back to help me with my pain. I will let you know how that works out for me. Laura the Assistant Manager is welcoming, professional and knowledgeable of all that Hand & Stome offers! It is great to know that there are locations in the U.S. and Canada that you can visit.
A wonderful experience!! Jamie at the front was so helpful in creating my appointment and I am so lucky I had Wendy as my masseuse!! She took the time to work out months of tension and several knots in my shoulders and I could tell she genuinely cares about her clients. I’ve never been a regular massage person, but look forward to seeing Wendy at my next visit!
Went there on a girls day 15 girls. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating towards this loud bunch! The massage by Precious was amazing! And I can't say enough about my facial by Jamie. It was absolutely the best! Highly recommended. Cannot wait to come back!
Came here due to my mother in law saying Ebbry was great. I had someone else, they used massage gun for 15 minutes, changed the settings on the table several times, and did not massage my face like I requested at the beginning. Did ok at getting knot out of shoulder.
I am a professional athlete so massages done the right way are very important for my body to stay healthy and Krestal did an amazing job. She’s very knowledgeable about the body and showed me some ways to help with my psoas. Great service thanks!
