The Hand Therapy & Occupational Fitness Center was established in 2008. It is located in Santa Barbara, California. We specialize in the rehabilitation of upper extremity injuries.
Treating hand and upper extremity injuries: traumatic injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis, arthritis, pre-surgical and post-surgical conditions. We use modalities to control pain, swelling and scar tissue (heat, paraffin, ultrasound, electrical stim, cold); perform manual therapy and soft tissue mobilization; teach home programs to maximize range of motion and strength; and provide education and information on the injury process, healing time-frames, joint and tendon protection concepts, and ergonomics. We also fabricate custom orthotics and splints as well as provide fitting for pre-fabricated braces.
