Happy Tails is a non-profit 501(c)3 no-kill animal rescue organization. We work to find homes for the many homeless animals in our community.

Mission

Happy Tails Rescue of Minnesota, founded in 2005, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue dogs and cats providing them with loving temporary care until a well-matched, carefully screened forever home can be found.

A fantastic animal rescue! I love how they don’t go overboard with approving their adopters yet still make sure the animals go to safe homes. We found our rescue dog to be an amazing addition to our family and currently taking her to classes there as well where the instructor has been teaching very valuable lessons to create a cooperative loving and respectful relationship between us and our new fur family member. Don’t hesitate to adopt your next family member from Happy Tails!
I adopted my boy Neville through Happy Tails a few months back and am so overjoyed that he’s a part of our family. As someone who choose to rescue, rather than shop for my new family member, I went in with the expectation that this animal may be on the road to recovery still. Happy Tails rescues animals from all different walks of life and some need more help than others. They do everything they can to get them happy and healthy, then it’s my job as the new parent to continue their work with my pup to make sure they stay happy and healthy for the rest of their life. Neville has officially reached a healthy weight. His coat is beautiful and shiny. He LOVES making all the friends everywhere he goes. So thanks Happy Tails for saving my boy and bringing him to me
We had a great experience adopting our new dog from Happy Tails. We absolutely love him! The process was easy, there was good communication, and we were able to meet the dog before adopting. Our new dog is a great fit with our family, resident dog, and friends. We just love him so much and we are grateful to Happy Tails for helping us find the perfect dog.
Everyone was friendly and easy to work with. We did not end up getting selected for the first dog we applied to adopt, but that dog’s foster mom was AMAZING and went above and beyond finding us a match after meeting us. We ended up adopting the pup she recommended, who is the perfect fit for our family. The adoption process moves very quickly. We also signed up for their dog raising class, which exceeded my expectations and was something I looked forward to going to every week. I would highly recommend working with Happy Tails Rescue if you are looking to adopt a dog. Even if you adopt elsewhere, I would recommend their training class.
We adopted Magnolia a month ago and had the best experience. Happy Tails Rescue made the adoption process so easy and there is no doubt they took the best care of her before she became ours. She has quickly become an important member of the family and is growing so fast!
We adopted Baby Girl from Happy Trails and it was a great experience. We met Baby Girl at the foster parents house and we were able to interact with her for almost an hour to see if it was a fit. We knew that she was the one and we were able to get everything processed and picked her up the following week. She has been a great addition to our house and her forever home!
We adopted a 4 month old puppy from Happy Tails and are so happy with both the process and the sweet puppy we brought home. She was well-socialized, mostly potty trained, and crate trained. Wow! We highly recommend finding your next best fur friend at Happy Tails!
We adopted a pup from Happy Tails. He's the sweetest boy ever. The whole experience with them was perfect from the application process to the follow up. They do wonderful work helping animals and we highly recommend working with them!
We adopted Quinn, aka Pizza, and she's been a perfect fit for our family. Sarah was fostering her, and she was wonderful to work with! She answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable with the adoption process. She had great insight into Quinn's history and was very honest with us about her potential behaviors. We've fallen fast and hard for this love bug! Enjoy the look on Quinn's face with her new lifejacket on ha!
Adopting a pet is a big decision. If you choose to adopt with Happy Tails, you will understand just how big of a decision it is because they make sure you know what kind of commitment you're getting yourself into. There is a lot of paperwork and a lot of signatures. I've read a number of negative reviews about Happy Tails. Adopting a pet is not all lollipops and rainbows. It's hard work and you will experience moments of frustration. Happy Tails does a good job of putting that out in the open to make sure your expectations are set to the right level. If you get a pet through Happy Tails Rescue, I implore you; do not agree to their training. It's not good and in my opinion it's simply a scam to pull an extra $155 out of the customer. The training was incomprehensible and the facility was filthy. We went to 1 of the 4 sessions and it was just not in any way professional. When I asked for my money back I was told simply that the fee is nonrefundable. Fine. You get bad review due to your inconvenient company policy that doesn't take care of the customer. We got a great dog though, so that's why this HappyTails doesn't get 1 star, but rather 2.
