School is great, but the art department really needs more improvement. The school always replenish most of the sued things in other areas of the school, especially sports, but when the art department needs something new, they only get less then half of what the rest of the school funds for other areas. We have to use the clay that has been used already for a couple of years for the ceramics class Richards offer. Each computer lab now has new computers, which is mainly used for typing, but for our digital photography class we have the "dinosaur" computers still.
The school was alright. I got involved in several activities which were interesting and fun. The teachers were great for the most part. Of course, there are always those who don't follow the rest, but it teaches a valuable lesson about different types of teachers. Overall, I felt prepared for college- HLR Class of 2017! Funding should be more evenly distributed for sure. Sports aren't the priority of the school! Some textbooks are dated, but they got the job done. AP and honors classes helped significantly, but I still think we could have been more prepared for life after high school. Finally, there is clear favoritism and some racism not a single race, across the boards with school administration and security. I didn't like the school, but I didn't hate it either. Richards is mainly what you make of it.
I went to this school for my freshman year back in the early '80's. It was a decent school, and what I remember most was that you weren't allowed to wear your coats in class, so if you were sick, or cold, you suffered. I still have dreams about this school to this day, and actually kind of miss it.
My children love this school and they are happy attending Richards. I wish more schools devote time to education and teachers so all children will be excited and enjoy school..
This school sux you can get expelled for being hit and not defending yourself. Unrealistic staff and mr kane is the worse thing to happen to high school as the bomb being dropped in japan!
