We are the premier All-Male Barbershop Chorus in the Harrisonburg area and a non-profit chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS)
In spring 2008, a group of men who love to sing gathered informally to explore the feasibility of forming a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) in the central Shenandoah Valley, perhaps in Harrisonburg. They decided there was enough interest to proceed and began to invite others to join them for evenings of harmony.
Since that first meeting, we have attracted other men who love to sing and who want to join the fun and fellowship of our group. We have established a music program we like, a record of well-received performances in the greater Harrisonburg area, an organizational structure which supports our activities, and a strong desire to thrive, grow, and increase our musical contributions to our community.
In 2009, we were granted our official charter as the Harrisonburg Chapter of the Southern Division, Mid-Atlantic District, Barbershop Harmony Society. We are an amateur, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to meeting the needs and interests of our members. We actively recruit new members. We began with eight men and now have a chapter membership of 30. Some members have decades of barbershop experience, some are new to barbershop music. Our learning program teaches those new to the style how to sing barbershop and helps experienced singers improve their skills. We look forward to continued chapter growth every year and to the constant improvement of our singing quality, as we celebrate the joy of singing barbershop!
