The Pubic Safety Complex is a three-story, 140,000 square foot structure created with one primary goal: protecting and serving the residents, businesses and visitors of Connecticut's Capitol City. This is the first time in Hartford's history that police, fire and emergency services and telecommunications will be headquartered under one roof. A granite memorial wall dedicated to police and fire personnel is located in a plaza on the south end of the building. The PSC was officially unveiled by Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra on January 9, 2013.

The department is committed to achieving these objectives by forging strong links between individual police officers of all ranks and the neighborhoods they serve, and by working co-operatively with residents, business owners, community organizations and others while maintaining the highest professional standards. Officers and civilian members of our department are expected to serve with competence, integrity, impartiality and respect for human dignity and individual freedom.
