This is a project to protect and preserve, for everyone, the 20 acres and 1700 feet of shoreline on Lake Charlevoix that has been the historic Camp Sea-Gull.
A community wide effort to preserve Camp Sea-Gull (located in Hayes Township, on the shores of Lake Charlevoix) as a public place, so that generations to come can continue to share and enjoy this incredible resource, enjoying access to Lake Charlevoix and extensive woodlands and meadows.
Our goal is to save the 20 acres that was Camp Sea-Gull as a place of woods and water that local families and visitors to northern Michigan can enjoy. To do that we must raise $650,000, in pledges, by September 28th, to fully qualify for the Natural Resources Trust Fund grant. With the funds we raise and the grant from the Trust Fund, a self-supporting public facility will be possible.
