Everyone at Heafey Hoffman was wonderful to me following the unexpected passing of my son. They went above and beyond taking care of my son so this devastated mother could hold his hand one last time. They have handled the funerals of my grandmother and my parents with care and compassion as well. Thank you to the whole staff especially Mr Cutler Sr. He was always available and very courteous.
How might I ever begin to express our deepest gratitude to Bill Cutler Jr.... We were meant to meet you in ways that I could only describe in two words, Divinely predestined. The road that led to Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler and how we connected with Bill Cutler Jr. is something we as a family will cherish always. The loss of our mother is the greatest depths of grief we have ever known, yet you inspired us with a peaceful, authentic kindness that could have only been brought to us through Christ's love and guidance. When emotions were high, you calmly supported us, when we were unable to think clearly, you brought us clarity.. when we shared stories you listened through your heart and when we, her five children did not have the strength to express our visions of how we could honor our mother, you put our thoughts all together as one. Thank you for truly being there for our entire family, the Celebration of life unfolded perfectly, that day and those moments cherished have forever changed our lives in ways our mother was meant to be remembered. With love, The Troia Family
Never thought I'd leave a Google review as I genuinely do not like to be critical with these things, but I want to warn other folks before they trust this funeral home for their loved ones. My grandfather passed away and to our surprise, a closed casket funeral became an open one when Heafey opened the closed casket for our funeral mass, letting funeral goers view my grandfathers body. As my grandfather himself had pre-planned his funeral and had indicated he wanted a closed casket service –something which was reiterated in the days prior to the funeral– this was extremely disrespectful. He would have hated funeral goers being able to see him in the casket, and he deserved so much better than that. At the visitation, some staff members were extremely kind and hospitable to us – thank you to those who provided a sense of warmth at this time, it's truly not lost on us. However, when asking for a remembrance video with pictures, the woman who manages this angrily replied that she had to go home for the day. Even when I offered to make the video myself in the hour preceding the visitation and was only in need of a screen to show it –something which was already in the visitation room– she declined and said she was not going to help with that as she had to leave for the day. It was only 4:30pm at the time. Even if she did have to leave for the day, there was no reason to be so abrasive to a grieving family especially when offering to do everything but pressing play ourselves. Once again I truly hate to leave a negative review, but with the services Heafey et. al provide, it is awful to have such large short-comings during the last event to celebrate the life of your loved one. I hope they can improve their services and others will not have similar experiences, but for now, there are other funeral homes in the Omaha area that I would recommend instead such as John A. Gentleman.
We had a wonderful experience with Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler for my Mother's funeral. Bill Cutler, Jr. and all the staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind. Bill made it so easy for us as we went through the process of planning the funeral. I would definitely recommend them to lay your love one to rest!
The worst experience I have ever had with a funeral home. Unfortunately it was for my 99-year-old mother who deserved so much more. Luckily I still had the information from the funeral home when my brother passed away in July. Because I had that information I was able to get my mother's obituary in the paper. No help whatsoever. Bill Cutler Sr. once called me back never bothered to tell me where we were in the process or review what I wanted or anything. Again I'm glad I had the information I actually led the process I got to the mortuary my mother wasn't even ready after almost 3 days. When I drove into the parking lot there so many people at another funeral It was a mass spreader covid event. They promised they would have my mother ready by 10:00 in the morning I waited there for an hour and a half before she was ready for a private family viewing. They didn't have her holy cards or service folders printed off she looked nothing like the picture that I sent them in fact I sent two pictures. They must have kept her flowers out of refrigeration because the roses in the bouquet that was sent were dead. I had to call the florist and have them replaced. I will never ever recommend or go to this funeral home ever again. Someone just posted that this place is in it for the money and I can agree 100%. Stay away from this place they have no clue what they're doing so unprofessional. It's the second funeral that I've been to that I've been so disappointed. The first one was my brothers the second one unfortunately was my mother's it was awful. I never did talk to Bill Cutler Sr the funeral director who was supposedly handling my mother's funeral. He evidently was too busy to even check in with me. This was so awful I just cried after thinking how this was such a disservice to my mother.
Following my dad's unexpected passing in December, Bill Cutler and his staff were so helpful. During this sad, stressful time, the guidance and help with decision-making Bill provided was greatly appreciated by my mom and my siblings. My family and I highly recommend their services.
I worked with Bill Cutler at Heafey Hoffmann. The facility at 7805 West Center Road which they call West Center Chapel is beautiful, brand-new, and well-equipped to handle any size of service. They have one chapel with pews. One smaller chapel. A larger chapel with chairs that can be added or removed. They also have a community room, in case you wanted to have food after a service. I had a very good experience with Bill Cutler. He didn't try to upsell me on anything. He was respectful, especially to my mother-in-law. He responded well to minor changes on the day of the service when we needed to add some extra chairs. When a family member had a specific request, he checked with me first as the next-of-kin. The organization ran well too. They have sticky boards for physical photos and easels. They have TVs for showing slides. You can bring in your own music. They can create funeral programs quickly. My wife was cremated, and they were able to separate her ashes into a container for me and two smaller containers for family members. Heafey Hoffmann worked extremely well for our service.
The Live Cast of today's funeral for Ralph Adkins was watched by several people across the country, who were unable to attend because of health, distance, etc. That was a true blessing. The Live Cast is deeply appreciated. Thank you.
Let the reviews speak for themselves. Clearly Bill Cutler Sr. is a rotten egg as is his son. While I thought the service and everything was nice, and whomever the mortician was did a wonderful job on making my sweet Grandpa look handsome there was a BIG problem after everything was done. We received a bill in the mail for nearly $500 because of THEIR errors. My main issue is with Bill Cutler Sr. - I brought the errors to his attention over the phone. They charged us for our Rabbi when I am the one who orchestrated it all and said we took care of it they charged us for flowers when I said would pay the florist directly and order what I wanted and they tried to charge $100 over budget, they also DID NOT LISTEN when we said NO EXCESS VERBIAGE outside of basics on the Omaha World Herald Obit. THEY CHARGED US OVER $600 in this line item ALONE. We specifically said no extras in the listing names etc. we never even clipped it from the paper because we said NO and had no idea it was there. When I looked to see what we were incorrectly charged for, they spelled MY GRANDPA'S NAME AND EVERY SINGLE NAME of each family member WRONG!!! Bill was patronizing, unkind, RUDE and just flat out awful and telling me I was wrong, and that I was "playing the victim" on the phone. This is only weeks after burying my Grandpa. After I made an excel document showing all expenses and balances, it turned out THEY owed US almost $300. They finally paid up once they saw my document because they knew they were WRONG!!!!! If you use them, CAREFULLY DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. They can't be trusted. I reported this to the BBB.
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the professionalism of Bill Cutler and the staff at Heafey. My mother passed away in Kansas, and we needed to have her transported to Omaha so she could be buried with my dad. I had done quite a bit of research after hearing an NPR story. Heafey charges very reasonable prices compared to other funeral homes in the Omaha area. Bill was very helpful.
