I received therapy last year for injury/pain in my lower back and right shoulder. The sessions were very helpful and completely alleviated my symptoms. The staff were attentive and receptive. High praise to Chris and Sienna. That's why I returned to Health Check this year after I injured my left calf. I've only been to one session, in which my injury was diagnosed and treatment began. I am already feeling a bit better,
I had 5 months of PT with this group and came away feeling brand new. I have had PT elsewhere, but this is the best PT experience I have ever had. The therapists and other staff are patient, warm and gracious, and fun to work with. They sent me home with a wonderful home exercise program.
A friend recommended Health Check after my persistent back pain was not resolved by two other PT centers I tried. I've been so happy with the results! They're really on the right track and are using a slightly different approach that makes a lot of sense. And their massage therapist is awesome, the best!
This facility provided wonderful therapy for my Mom who is 88 and had a severe break in her arm. They encouraged her and provided excellent treatment in a fun and positive atmosphere. Cannot thank them enough. She looked forward to going and always left with a smile. I myself will use this facility should I need physical therapy in the future. She made tremendous progress while under their care. Special thanks to Tom, Maddi, Mike and the entire staff.
It isn't fair to rate PT's just on results. Probably better to look at the entire process. Typically I'd spend 20-30 min one on one with the therapist at Health Check. There was manipulation and lots of checking alignments. The balance of the time was doing work/exercises with an exercise specialist who were always making sure of my correct alignment. This is very different than many offices where the PT is working on 3 or 4 other patients during your time there. The office is run competently with a smile. There was never a problem with making or changing appointments or with my insurance. I still have a ways to go, but for now I seem to have the tools to reach my goals. Health Check has made a difference!
In brief: I was hurting. My hip didn’t work right. I am now much better and stronger. I first time, Tom said “Raise your leg” and I couldn’t do that. That was sad. Tom then led the way, figured out what I needed to do and we went after it. With Tom leading the way and with the help of Maddie and Siena, I have gotten that balky hip under control. Now, I am so much better. I am stronger; it’s sweet. Thanks everyone! And thanks Cat for working with my crazy schedule.
Health Check was recommended to me by my brother and sister-in-law who have sung their praises for years; I am now one of their biggest fans. I recently suffered a rotator cuff impingement which caused a lot of pain and seriously impeded my ability to use my right arm for everyday activities. The owner, Tom, worked with me diligently to return mobility and function to my arm while easing my pain. Health Check is run in a professional yet friendly and supportive environment which makes going to therapy a very positive experience. It has my highest recommendation for physical therapy of any kind.
Even though my trigger finger problem was a small one I was given the utmost attention. I can’t say enough about the people who helped me through all the exercises. Connor, Ryan, Siena, and Chris were always polite, patient, and thorough. They were always encouraging and professional, and always friendly. Chris did the work on my hand and finger. He worked diligently and hard to fix my condition. I felt he gave me his complete attention. He answered all my questions and gave me thorough explanations as to what caused my trigger finger. My time at Health Check Physical Therapy was well spent. The therapy I received made a huge improvement on my condition, the trigger is gone, and with the at home exercises provided to me I feel confident I can continue to preventative measures so that the condition does not return. I also want to acknowledge Cat who always has a smile and a pleasant greeting when you enter and sends you off with a “have a good day!” when you leave. I know that if I ever need physical therapy in the future, Health Check Physical Therapy is where I will go.
As a past collegiate athlete, I've spent a lot of time in different PT clinics. When I hurt my back, Health Check was recommended to me by a doctor in which I hold in high regard. I am so glad I followed through on that recommendation because they not only fixed my issue, they helped me understand why other areas of my body were feeling impacted. I recall coming in one day and mentioning to Tom my stomach felt like it had just been punched, hard. He poked around and explained that it was because I was holding my breath while doing tasks that bothered my back. He released my diaphragm and I was instantly better. That is one of many examples of how Tom and Chris are different- they want you to understand how the body works and how slight changes we may make consciously or unconsciously to cope with the pain can effect other areas of your body. I had made slight adjustments to the way I was walking to cope with pain, which probably started in college. They quickly reprogrammed my muscle memory, along with some other bad habits I picked up. Frequently they will even get out the spine skeleton and show you exactly what is causing your discomfort. I had the pleasure of working with both Tom and Chris, as well as their wonderful staff, who will also push you while paying close attention to how you are doing your exercises and surely pick up on any discomfort you are feeling. Cat at the front desk will always go out of her way for the patients as well. I can't say enough positive things about this practice. If you are looking for a place that cares about YOU and getting the life you want back, I highly recommend Health Check.
I'm struggling to find the words to describe my extremely postive experience with Health Check. I was in a car accident that resulted in a neck injury affecting my brachial plexus. I was able to schedule my first appointment with ease through their website. Upon my first visit, Tom performed an examination to diagnose the problem and devise a plan for my recovery. He gave me a folder full of handouts and information about my injury. He thoroughly answered my questions and provided me with plenty of workouts to do at home. I could really tell Tom wanted me to understand the problem and how we were going to fix it. I really appreciate the encouragement from all of the staff to come back with more questions. It made me feel comfortable at an uncomfortable point in my life. I spent four months working with the team. The service they provide is extraordinary. Kat always makes scheduling a breeze. She regularly helps solve clerical and technical issues you may have with insurance or other healthcare providers. Tom always has a great story to tell from his years of experience that connects to your situation and ultimately turns into a learning experience. Chris is amazing at breaking down information and answering your questions without using excessive medical jargon. If he does, he makes it easy to understand and pairs it with a clever joke or two. Connor has a wealth of knowledge and his methodical approach never failed to correct my form and keep me on track during exercises. Sienna takes her role seriously, knows how to push you to succeed, and praises her clients for their good work! Ryan is a friendly, and inspiring individual who can make tough workouts fly by with his expert conversational skills. Overall, the family at Health Check always makes you feel like one of their own. They greet you with a smile, and send you home feeling better than when you arrived! I couldn't recommend a more skilled, empathetic, and pleasant group of folks to guide you through your healing process. They redefined what healing means to me. I am incredibly grateful for my time at Health Check!
