I have nothing but positive things to say about every single staff member we have encountered since we walked into this hospital. My experience is based on the Pediatric ER and the Pediatric Admission Unit on the second floor. I wish I could name every single staff member that assisted us along the way but I cannot remember everyones names, there were A LOT of different team members that have assisted us during our toddler's stay and ALL of them were beyond outstanding. They made our toddler feel comfortable beyond measure and for that we couldn't be more grateful! They also made my husband and I feel beyond comfortable, kept us extremely informed along the way and seriously took care of us as if we were family! Huge thank you and major props to all of the hardworking and extremely knowledgeable Nurses and the Pediatrician!
I was admitted here for a week for an emergency. I had several surgeries performed and I felt cared for and attended to the whole time. Not once did I feel belittled or without care. The nurses, doctors, and support staff were all very helpful and informative. Definitely a good place for emergency care. The wait can be a bit long at times for outpatient care, but it is hard to blame a hospital for the number of emergencies they receive.
I have been to others hospitals and this hospital HAS THE BEST CARE AND TEAMS I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. When you are sick it is hard to find a hospital that takes the time to listen and treat you with dignity and care no matter your race, lifestyle, background, or your insurance status. I have been here for over 5 days and not one issue. From the housekeeper Ania that when I just need to have someone be amazing , food team Ricardo and trinity for making sure food was always delivered hot and fresh, to all the 7th floor nurses and cna that taken care of me in such a way while dealing with other patients and still smiling when you came to my bedside. Charge nurse Kelly that blew my mind of how she came in to say hi and always asked how are we doing while running the floor. I can go on and on about how this is the best hospital in the area when seeking care. I applaud you all and thank you greatly. We took my 89-year-old mother-in-law to Holmes on August 19th, 2023. She had Covid followed by pneumonia. She is getting terrible care! Respiratory therapy hasn't seen her in four days. Physical therapy hasn't seen her in three days. They just sat her up in a chair for the first time in four days. They aren't changing her gowns when needed and it takes them 30+ minutes to come to her room when called. This is unconscionable!
My daughter encountered the most unprofessional, arrogant and disrespectful doctor today in the Holmes Emergency room. As a professional and a newly minted foster parent, taking the day off from her job to ensure the child in her custody was seen by personnel who she thought would be professional, only for him to state, “He’s too expensive and too good to be doing X-rays, it costs too much for him to even walk in a room.” Proceeded to dismiss them to an underling. I guess the oath taken is only for individuals HE deems deserving. Please do better this was unacceptable and noted. Will personally follow up the hospital in person to file a formal complaint.
Horrible so the 2 star rating was a gift. My mother spent 5 days in an environment that was neglectful and careless. CT scans that could have been done in a matter of hours took days to have completed. Then days to get results. Nurses and CNA's clearly didn't care for their patients. With the exception of a couple I'll give them that. Went over a day and a half without food because they claimed the doctor didn't put in an order to say she could eat. Was supposed to be seen by doctors that didn't show up or sent a PA. At discharge it took 2 1/2 hours for transport that never came. Had to find a wheelchair on the floor to take her out myself. I could go on but what's the point. Palm Bay Hospital is 1000 times better. Go there.
The staff was great, but the accommodations and management decisions are very upsetting. We were put in a back room around 3am that had no couch and not enough space to move around or be comfortable. We were forced to step over top our bags, rearrange the position of the baby cart in order to move around and get to our things to get to the chair next to the bed. Additionally there was no hot water to take a shower and the nurses confirmed this was normal and everyday. Finally, the room was equipped with a wall AC unit that loudly ran constantly with no ability to adjust it. This added to the crampness of the tiny space. We also came to learn that I, as the father, receive just 2 meal vouchers for just $8 each yet I was in the hospital for 5 meals. We were finally moved to a new room around 2PM the following day which greatly relieved our extreme discomfort. This only happened because we made the request. Lastly, we have had to request a bath for our baby over 5 times in the past 12 hours and each time the nurses are stating that they may not be able to do it because of how busy they are. It's extremely upsetting to see a bill for $23,953.64 to be nickel and dimed for basic food needs, availability of staff to complete a bath, and 1 star motel type accommodations that should not be allowable and are surpsing. Two years ago, we had the same wonderful doctor, great staff and NONE of these issues. I, as the husband, received meals brought to the room just as my wife did. So the people haven't changed, maybe we were lucky last time to not have the misfortune of poor accommodations, but clearly the management has changed or made decisions disconnected from patient experience.
Awful awful awful experience at this hospital. From the staff to the surgical team , just awful. I came into this hospital with a broken nose and some face fractures due to a car accident. My nose looks awful post surgery. It’s crooked and not at all how it use to look even alittle bit. Staff was rude , rooms were very very small. When I was discharged I was given very little follow up instructions for the two surgeries I had just undergone. Just an all around very poor quality hospital and experience. If you can go anywhere else!
So I would like to express what a wonderful experience I had here at Holmes hospital, from my arrival in the ER. To the wonderful staff on the 3rd floor, to being put in the Cath Lab. The woman who run it are amazing! To Dr Patel and his amazing PA Jillian. Who is a Rock Star to the Team with the prep for the cath, to the staff in the OR to Dr. R. Patel who was fabulous and his Wild West team. Who made me laugh when I was scared to death. To both the hospitalitst who too care of me. For my Nuro consultation. To the staff in the MRI unit. The Aides that took care of. My stay on the 7th floor. I can't express how grateful I am to all these amazing people. My my words do not expressed the appreciation that I have for all of you, your professionalism, your kindness, your warmth. I am so grateful to each and every single one of you I leave here feeling safe and happy again thank you with all my heart, Pamela Wheeler.
If they determine from an X-ray that your issue is not life threatening then they don’t bother finding out the actual diagnosis; they just send you home with a medication you can’t even take and in more pain due to the X-ray tech hurting you! Not to mention the pain is on my right side and he was staying the left until I said something
