Excellent place for getting better. Nice facility and excellent and proffetional staff
75% of nurses and nurses staff provided great care, PT staff very good. Can't trust admin staff, say one thing and do something else. Stroke patient released before ready because they had to work harder to get patient to accept his required PT. Dismissed the fact that a deep bleed stroke affects emotion, comprehension, etc, due to thalamus stroke known as "body regulator" not considered in treatment at all. No forewarning of why patient was being discharged until 2 days before discharge. Even nurses expressed the fact he was not ready to be moved to a extended care service. "Get em in, get em out, collect the money, keep beds full." Not the place it was when it was Health South. Big Corps buy out lines of places and bottom line is the only objective. So disappointed on what this one time great place has become. SAD!
Went to recurve rehab, post sx for SI Joint. Got COVID instead. Transferred to another unit, another floor, with bed full of appliances on the. Bed. Left me sitting in wheelchair in front on open window, no blanket, etc. For 2 hrs I yelled for help. I finally got to the door to find it locked .A nurse heard me and opened for it for me , .This people is ENCOMPASS,. Don’t go there . Dangerous for all!
Understaffed is an understatement. It doesn’t matter if the staff to patient ratio is already unfair on a Friday night. You will absolutely see more patients brought into the building. Which in turn does not allow patients to be taken of properly. The goal of every night was to make it through the night with no problems. Which just allows for the bare minimum of care. As much as it costs to come there, the patients deserve much more then they receive. They work employees into the ground and then fire them once they are exhausted and stressed to the max. All this place is, is a cash cow. They are here to squeeze their employees to the bone. Milk the patients until they’re dry. Then keep on moving. If you want proof of such ask what the current staff to patient ratio is when you arrive. 6:1 is the best you will receive. With 18:1 being typical for aids. And 9:1 for the actual medical care you are supposed to receive from nurses. Also ask how many patients your doctor is seeing, because that number is overwhelming too! Don’t go here if you don’t need to. They will just overcharge Medicaid/Medicare and keep on moving. Sad!
I took my mom's clothes in a suitcase when she was admitted to Encompass. When she was transferred...they put her clothes in a cardboard box. No one will return calls on where the suitcase is. Because of COVID I still don't know if she even got all of her clothes. The social worker told me so many lies. Horrible Experienc....stay away!!!! Update- They did call me and replaced to suitcase.
I was placed in your facility in Bridgeport, WV for Rehabilitation after extensive spinal surgery. When I entered the strength of both legs was near normal but when I was discharged my left leg was nearly paralyzed. They never informed my surgeon of this rather important change. Further surgery was required. I was then placed in your Morgantown facility but discharged in 8 days but my leg was not functionally stronger, so I fell at home that evening. I was taken to another close by hospital for evaluation. This hospital UHC is affiliated with WVU where my surgery was performed. Fortunately no damage was done to the hardware in my back. However, the ER Doctors said "We don't know what to do with you, we can't send you home you are unsafe". Finally I was admitted to the Skilled Nursing Facility within the hospital, Where I have been getting regular Physical Therapy from a Therapist that knows real rehab, not play rehab done by the children at Encompass in both places.
HealthSouth, prior to 2018 was a good facility. Not anymore. My family member has been there three times this year nowhere else to go and it’s been horrible. Staff is uneducated and sparse. They do not clean properly. The physical rehab has patients just sitting and they’ve no idea how to read Dr orders. Is this because Emcompass took over- no doubt. Stay far away
This place has gone down hill, I found my mother daily with brown rings in her bed, therapist that make excuses. The didn't try to help mother after the stroke. Jenelle the case manager was especially horrible. I would ask her for help and she would say call me back if you have any questions. Sent mother home without proper equipment. It was a nightmare after a nightmare event. Health south and it's staff doesn't care
First, l'll say that the PT part of HS is amazing. However supporting staff, especially the male doctor we had, was less than competent. My mother would have died if left in his care this is NOT and exaggeration!. Take extreme caution and always be 100% involved in the care given.
Don't waste your time like they wasted mine and my daughters!! Do yourself a favor and just go to regular physical therapy it's the same thing and you probably won't lose your job over it like I had to because They lied to me about giving me an excuse for my job. They didn't help my daughter at all and lied to me about helping her with some school issues. Now she is in regular physical therapy any damn way. Oh and When you call don't expect a phone call back no matter how many times you call and leave a message. And definitely don't expect your case manager to help you out even when that's their job.. I would give zero stars if I could. I will NOT put one of family members in there ever again!!!
