Description

Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida (Healthcare Network) is a private not-for-profit organization providing primary medical and dental care to our community since 1977. Founded by community leaders in Immokalee, the Healthcare Network has grown to 21 locations throughout Collier County, including the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®. In 2015, the Healthcare Network cared for an average of 48,000 patients, 30,000 of whom were children, for a total of over 175,000 patient visits. The Healthcare Network has four main service areas: Children’s Care, Family Care, Women’s Care and Dental Care.

The Healthcare Network welcomes all patients—insured or uninsured—and provides the same high quality standard of care to all. As more physicians choose not to accept Medicaid or uninsured patients, the Healthcare Network cares for those patients, offering an alternative to the more expensive and often inappropriate emergency room. If more people have access to care, we all benefit from a healthier community.

"Dental services through Healthcare Network are available for adults and children. Services include preventive services sealants, examinations, gum evaluation and treatment, cleaning and Fluoride treatments, x-ray services and education in preventive care.Healthcare Network is committed to ensuring quality healthcare is accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of employment, income or insurance status. Founded in 1977, Healthcare Network provides primary healthcare services including family care, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, senior care, and pharmacy as well as dental care and integrated behavioral health for both adults and children."

I had to wait over two hours for a nurse to call back and give me an appointment time to bring my 6 year old daughter who had been burning with fever of over 102 for about two days. The time of call back would not have bothered me as much, if I had not witnessed how the nurses were gossiping and joking around in a "lab room" while sick children and parents waited to be called into the office. I finally made the appointment for 3:20, and was still waiting at that time to be called in. One of the nurses did three tests on my daughter: strep, flu, and Covid. While waiting for the Dr to come see my daughter inside the patient room, my daughter asked me to bring her to the bathroom. By now, we had been waiting almost an hour long time for a 6 year old. I walk out of the door and the doctor is coming my way, blocking my path, saying that my daughter tested positive for Covid to go back in the room immediately. Both of us were wearing masks, and I was holding both my daughter's hands as for her not to touch anything. She basically escorted us to the room, although I told her that my daughter just needed to use the restroom. She proceeds to tell me that she didn't know if my daughter would be able to use that bathroom! I'm dumbfounded........ what!? Listen, I understand as much as the next person the importance of not spreading illnesses and germs, but that was a bit much. Not allowing a little kid, feverish mind you, to use a restroom in a health facility, because she is SICK!? How does that make sense....I did not receive the results of the test on paper, they then proceeded to give me an excuse for my daughter's school with someone else's name on it....because I guess we all look alike and in less than 2 seconds a nurse escorted us to a "back exit" so we could leave the building. Heavyhearted and humiliated, I just feel we were treated so poorly. They made us feel like we were carrying the black death! Dr. Sarac, et al. most definitely need better customer/human service skills, with perhaps a little sprinkle of Empathy. Another thing was that I was speaking to her in English, and she kept acting like she didn't understand what I was saying little background here....I taught English-grades from High school to seventh grade, for about 22 years! They treated my daughter and I as if they were doing us a favor by seeing us....I paid for their services.... whatever the insurance required me to; which is not decided by me. I would have paid full price even, to ensure my daughter was able to recover. I don't think I'm ever stepping into that building again.
Inconvenient as the dental office schedules appointments 2 months in advance as as I found out, no teeth cleanings until 3 months from then so the only way to see them was to "walk in" and hope they could get to me for a cracked tooth. I was told to arrive about 45 minutes before they opened the doors, so I arrived at 7 a.m. and then was taken into the room around 8:15 where a very courteous and professional assistant did take my information, blood pressure and x-rays. The doctor was professional and listened to my concerns and expertly treated me. The minuses on the facility were the inability for them to schedule routine appointments in reasonable time, and in my particular room there were two photographs of gum diseased mouths staring right at me a few feet away. One would think those photographs were not appropriate to post right in front on patients. I also note that the blood pressure machine seemed to be giving an extraordinarily high reading and when I expressed surprise at the reading they pulled in another machine that read a much more lower and more normal reading.
Everyone at the clinic is so great.when i have appointments i always get seen on time. And if i have questions my Doctor always explain to me to where i can understand. Love my Doctor
Every time I have an appointment scheduled here I always arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time, the actual appointment time comes and I’m still not seen by a doctor. They will have you waiting a whole extra hour to be seen. Smh.
I came January 7 for a dental appointment for my daughter and I waited 30 minutes to tell me they will have to reschedule for the 26th and when I came they said their system was down I waited for more than 30 minutes and I asked if they were going to see my daughter! The lady there said I’m not sure if there going to see her just sit and wait!!!! Every time I come the wait is like an 1 hour or more!!! & the lady there is so rude there just on there phones!!!!
Only place in this tiny town that takes Medicaid. Friendly staff. Good place.
Pretty cool looking place and everyone does their job, but the doctors are way too harsh on the kids.

The only place I'm aware of that takes state medical in this tiny Town of Immokalee. Which makes it better than the rest.
