Have been a patient in St Johns numerous times, both in the ER and admitted. Loved it until my stay from July 11 to July 13. I was put in a hallway overnight, then put in a room with no window and no services for another day and got in a room the night before I was discharged. I did not get all my meds the first night. Terrible way to treat patients. If they were that overcrowded I was told that is the norm! I would appreciate being told that before I was admitted so I could have chose another hospital. But with limited hospitals to chose from in the northern suburbs I don't have many options. May have to choose different insurance to expand my options.
Literally the worse experience ever. Brought my 1 year old in & they couldn’t get blood drawn or an IV put in. They continued to poke him over & over with multiple different nurses coming in to try. You could also see the nurses digging the needle around in his hand & arm to try to find a vein. Then the nurses told us that none of them were comfortable doing it on a baby because they don’t work with babies during & after they continued to try. I asked for a heel draw multiple times & they continued to try to draw from his arms after they told me they would draw from the heel. Was there for 6 hours & left with no answers because they couldn’t find a vein. Also, this hospital is disgusting. The floors were sticky & full of dirt. My 1 year old wanted to crawl around in our room, so I sat on the floor with him to only feel all the dirt & physically see it on my pants when i got up. Will never go there again.
L&D at St John’s is the best! I had such a good experience in September. Everyone I met during my stay was so nice and helpful - especially my labor nurse Molly! No one loves to be in the hospital but it makes me feel better to know I’m in good hands when I go back in November for my second baby!
This is by far the dumbest hospital in Minnesota by far. No hospital even comes close to being as disorganized as St. Johns. It took the nurse well over 20 minutes to just bring water to a patient. By the way, there were about 5 nurses in the lobby area just chatting. What a circus full of clowns. As the patient is eating food, the nurse is going to ask if he's allowed to eat? Good to know that doctors and nurses are communicating with one another if a patient can or cannot eat for X amount of hours. I'd highly recommend any patient to go anywhere BUT ST. JOHNS.
Horrible!!!! My daughter went to the ER because her wisdom teeth are trying to pop through, as the world knows it’s impossible to get in to a dentist in any decent time frame and as she sat there shaking from the pain that she’s been in for the past 3 days this very impersonal doctor labeled her a pill seeker and kicked her out of the ER!! Disgusting! So here she sits as an already under weight kid who can’t eat or sleeps because “ibuprofen “ isn’t doing the job! I don’t know what happened to these doctors since Covid let them pick and choose who they wanted see but somebody in these hospitals better had knock them down a notch!!
Greatest Hospital Ever To Have A Baby! Nurse CLARK was amazing, they truly deliver a personal touch. It was a complicated birth to bring my baby girl here and they stopped at nothing to deliver the birth that our family wanted. My 3rd child and by far the best experience of any hospital I have ever been to. Not one nurse here was good they were all exceptionally great!
I fell, broke my foot and sprained my ankle. I wasn't offered anything for pain or an ice pack. I was given a hard sole shoe rather than am aircast which further damaged my foot, needing emergency surgery at Summit Orthopedic. I feel like they don't know what they are doing. Or taking on too many patients with not enough staff.
I recently had outpatient surgery at M Health Fairview St John's Hospital in Maplewood. I felt I was in great hands from start to finish. Chuck, a volunteer, greeted me & my family with kindness as he explained the notification process to keep my family abreast of my progress during surgery. Mike, a pre-op RN, was very thorough in checking me in. He made sure all of my questions were answered. Becky, a post-op RN, went above & beyond the call of duty to make me comfortable & safe after my surgery. I highly recommend M Health Fairview St John's Hospital.
I had surgery 6/14 and had the best staff working with me. Paz, Dani, Michael and many other nurses did everything to make me comfortable and were so nice. I know I’m missing names on the surgical floor but I appreciate them all.
Went in for xray, left with blood on my sleeve from a injection given and nurse did not use a band aid. Admitting staff was kind and pleasant to speak too. This was the last time I'll ever set foot at St John's hospital. Rude nurses. 1980's decor. Dirty. Was not busy, received my results in my chart app while waiting to see doc after xray. Waited 20 more minutes and left.
