Stayed on Mothers Day weekend, the property is very nice. The beds were comfortable, we had a full size kitchen that came in very handy. We had a great time at the pool and barbequing. There are plenty of picnic tables and pits for everyone. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return and will recommend to my friends and family.
Rooms are comfortable but bathrooms are very cramped, had to sit side-saddle or feet-in-shower to use the toilet. Cable TV and wifi are good. Pools are very nice too.Rooms: 3/5
Make a payment over the phone asked for my email don’t even send the receipt to my email sent out to another person in a whole other cabin. The cabins are so out of date need to be remodeled badly. Tv is 30 plus years old seriously it’s 2022 people. We never can get a downstairs for 4-5 night stay because they rather hold for a big family group for 2-3 nights stay.
We love this place. The location, pool, grounds are all great! The cabins are old and you can hear everything that happens above you. And there is absolutely no items in the kitchen for cooking so bringing everything you might possibly need. Other than that it is great!Rooms: 3/5
They have a kitchenette with zero kitchen accessories except to ice trays and an ice bucket. The rooms are fine but the staff could use some education. If they would rent a cornhole set or some kind of activity and put some more Lighting on the parking lot they could make some money there. Used to really enjoy the ping pong table but it's gone. 30 or $35 for a ball cap with your name on it, seriously. Always strange to me how people pay people so they can advertise for them for free. Anyway we enjoyed ourselves and we'll be back and the swimming pool as well kept and fantastic.
Rooms were significantly dated. Fridge leaked everywhere. Beds were super uncomfortable. Only 2 pillows a bed and they weren't all that great. Staff was not overly friendly. Pool was nice and access to the river was convenient. The game room was a joke. This is not glamping!! Don't fool yourself. Best part of the stay was seeing the deer and hand feeding them.
Good and bad. The bad. The cabins are outdated and have paper thin walls. The mattress was terrible. We had a downstairs two bedroom. The people above us had about 20 people piled in. I honestly thought they would fall through on us. You can hear every single word they spoke, move they made, and the kids....wow....no courtesy for the people below. Lots of running and jumping. I’m assuming they were jumping off the beds. How they had room to move that much, I have no idea with how small the space is. My husband had to walk upstairs and ask them to quiet down....after midnight. So about 2am it got quiet enough to fall asleep. Second night, it was quiet until they came back in around 11pm and it started all over again. My husband had to be up at 445am to fly out to work so not much sleep. The good. The scenery is beautiful. The pool is nice and you don’t get bothered to get out at 8pm like a lot of hotels. There’s a game room and the canoes and paddle boats are fun. You pay 3 dollars a life jacket to use them for 30mins....not bad. The river is a small little area and was not full at all so you have space to move around without everyone on top of you. There’s a little fire pit area with swings. We made s’mores. It’s secluded and the staff were very friendly.
I’ve stayed here several years and this will be my last. I’m going this year because it’s to late for our group of 10 to find an available place on the river for our annual vacation. For years when our group left in August we made our reservation for the following year. Since trying to confirm our August 2021 reservation starting in October 2020 people in our group have experienced the following: 1 one cabin received an email in late 2020 confirming her cabin and dates. When she called to pay her deposit in early 2021, she was told her reservation wasn’t for the dates on the email and Heidelberg refused to honor the reservation email they sent her. 2 Heidelberg called the other 2 rooms in early 2021 in our group saying if we changed our dates to match our friends dates that were changed for her, they’d upgrade our rooms to compensate for all of us having to change our vacation days. We took the upgrade. 3 after receiving the upgrade 2 months later in April 2021, I get an email and phone call saying someone else wants the cabin I’m in so I no longer can have my upgraded room and they won’t honor my original room number reservation! To correct this they give me a free night. 4 the last straw came with an email in June 2021 saying they increased the price on my room! Yes to compensate themselves for all their incompetence Heidelberg raised my room rate 2 months before I’m supposed to be there and over 4 months after I made my initial deposit to secure a reservation. I don’t know if there’s been a management change or an ownership change but this used to be a nice place to stay. Since October 2020 I’ve made reservation for Heidelberg, Rome Italy, 2 lake house cabins, a hotel in Dallas, and 2 Galveston beach house. My Heidelberg reservation is the ONLY one that’s been a horrible experience or experienced changes from what I originally received a confirmation for. Don’t try staying here!
The bathroom is to small and the beds are very uncomfortable and if you have an upstairs you have to sit at the dining room table to watch TV and that's very uncomfortable...Rooms: 1/5
Best vacation ever! We absolutely loved this place. Can’t wait to come back next year. Perfect for kids and adults. From the deer to Kayaking and fishing we enjoyed ever second.Rooms: 3/5
