Helia Healthcare of Champaign

This is an old facility even though it is remodeled partially recently but still rooms and bathrooms are old and small space. it is hard to move around in the bathroom to help patients. In some room there are three or four patients together using one bathroom... Thorough consideration necessary to choose good nursing home. Nice looking activity room or administrator's room doesn't make patient will get good care. People who is working for the patient make huge changes but I don't think this place is the one where those people are working.

After the unfortunate events that took place on December 31st ending in death for the woman who should have been noticed when she left the building in below zero temps....I was leaving Helia today and no-one informed me of the new code for leaving the building. The alarm went off but no one came out to see why. No-one got up from there desks. I peeked my head into one of the offices to ask if there was a new code and the woman said, "oh yeah, yes it is ******." Why is no one concerned??? Also, while visiting a patient 2 days after this poor woman passed away, a man was delivering dinner and the news was on in the patient's room. The story about the events that occurred on December 31st at Helia was on and this man said, "oooope, they're talking about us again!" In a joking manner. To me, this is a huge deal, and should be taken serious. Shame on him!!

It was NOTHING close to what was in the pamphlet shown to me. I can't walk without assistance, but I'm at home! I'll get there alone.
