There are no words to describe the exemplary service we received during the difficult time of having to lay my son to rest. It started from the time Mr Thornton answered our questions over the phone and carried on from there. Mr Thornton and his staff were kind, compassionate, gentle, and comforting. The chapel is beautiful and was just the right size for our needs. My son looked handsome and the service was amazing. Although I hope we never need his services again, we will definitely use Thornton Mortuary again if the need arises. I know we were lead there by God!

Brandon Thornton is the absolute best at his profession. My family was referred to the Herschel Thorton Mortuary through a previous employee who has transitioned to glory. When my father passed away, Brandon did not hesitate to go above and beyond to assuage my concerns. My father's service was handled with great professionalism, detail, and care. Brandon is always available to assist with any questions and concerns. My family has used Thornton Mortuary for two additional funeral services. Thank you for everything!

When time came to bury my father Brandon was the absolute best! He assured my family greatness and at the end of his service I was so pleased. He was honest, trustworthy, understanding, and respectful. While he was out of town his father and sister always contacted me with updates prior to the service. My brother, John, passed away in Atlanta, GA during the pandemic. Herschel Thornton Mortuary was so valuable to our family. They were kind, compassionate and professional. All concerns were handled and in a timely manner. It was a comfort to deal with such a service during a tragic time.

My loving father passed away just as Covid-19 started to shut Atlanta down. As we wanted the best home going service for my dad who deserved it we shopped around looking for the best option for us to bury my dad. When we met with Brandon my siblings and myself felt an instant connection with him as he assured us that they would take great care of us as well as my dad. I asked for the price on EVERYthing so there wouldn't be and surprise's in the cost and it made it a little easier for me to laugh to keep from crying as I delt with my new reality without my dad. Long story short Brandon made sure that our family was taken care of as well as making sure my dad looked his absolute best at the last minute we asked if a yellow rose could be placed in his coat and they made it happen. My dad looked so peaceful and it helped my sister and I to know that each time we stepped in the building we felt at peace. Although death isn't anything that anyone looks forward to, I would definitely recommend this place as a final place to say goodbye to a loved one. This was definitely one of the most difficult things that I have ever had to experience, but they definitely made myself and my family feel comfortable

Decent amount of parking, nice clean establishment, but could use some remodeling. The chapel fairly old, good funeral service. Staff was caring and attentive.
