I made a reservation and am currently in a car being driven with my 2 year old daughter to get a car because mine is in the shop. On the way I got a call from a nice lady working for the company and she told me I cannot get a car today. They have none and do not take same day reservations… so why was I able to make a same day reservation??? My driver is upset but still getting paid to take me back home to find a new reservation. Hertz is a joke. They didn’t offer to find a different location or car just so sorry we can’t help as promised. Do not rent from these people. Again the female customer service that called was polite despite having to tell me her store does not honor their same day reservations that they let you book online.
Nice people, but I was charged an extra 2 days when the car was dropped off on-time in the key box. I have requested a refund through Hertz. update: the customer service through fb messenger was helpful in getting the refund in.
Total scam! Spend hours on BJ’s site to rent a car. Made reservation and bought extra protection. Later that day in the early morning the Hertz called and told me they have no car to rent and should try their 1-800 number to find a car. Finally Located a car at the Dulles airport. Once I went there to pickup the car I see the lot with hundreds of cars and no sight of shortage. Surprisingly cost went up a lot and they totally ignored my contract to the degree that it was obvious that they want more money for so called airport location. In the age of information, these people openly trying to cheat customs. Walked out since the manager was not willing to honor my contract.
This is the worst Hertz to come to! Go to Rochester Hills, where professionals are at work. Sterling Heights location has horrible customer service who scams you regardless if you bring in the car on time or late. They make you pay extra, regardless if you drop it off in their lockbox on the same day and time you picked it up. They make you park in the Dollar Tree lot that is a 5-10 minute walk away. Because apparently your car will be towed if left in their mobile home building. They’re cheap because they’re horrible and legitimately just scamming people. Google doesn’t even show them when you search Hertz. That should say a lot. Close this place down already.
This location is horrible, but Hertz in general is a disaster. Long story short, the computer systems were down and they never attempted to get reimbursement from the insurance company. Of course they send me the entire bill even though the insurance company is responsible for 80%. In my attempts to call Hertz to rectify the situation, I encountered some of the rudest customer service reps ever. I will refrain form giving them my business in the future.
Just waited 25 minutes at the office for a person to show up. No one did. This place is the worst. Need to now find another alternative because of lack of management and staff. Don’t bother with this place. Update, at 4:53pm I tried to call to cancel and was forward to a cellphone. The lady said she wouldn’t be back until 5:30 and I needed to call the 1800 numbers again to cancel the reservation by 5 or I would be charged. 5 minutes to try and cancel because know one was there for an hour and a half. I got there at 4:05pm, waited 25 minutes, and left. This place is a joke.
My experience with Hertz was not just disastrous; it was a catastrophe that makes a supernova seem like a minor inconvenience. My simple plans to transport a modest 145 kilos of avocados turned into an epic saga of disappointment. Their weight restrictions were a draconian law, a killjoy that smashed my plans and tarnished my anticipation. To add insult to injury, the Hertz employee's conduct was an insult to the term professionalism. They seemed to be an extra from a poorly produced gangster film, throwing gang signs at my every query. The discomfort they caused was palpable, making me question if Hertz had unwittingly wandered into a shady underworld rather than car rental. The location where I picked up the vehicle was a scene from a dystopian nightmare, a perfect replica of a back alley from "The Wire". It was a grim maze of neglect and impending danger. I feared for my safety, feeling more like a pawn in a dangerous game than a customer. The vehicle provided, a supposed noble steed for my journey, was a nightmarish parody of a car. The interiors weren't just dirty; they were a museum of grime and squalor. The exterior bore the scars of careless usage - dings, scratches, and stains aplenty. I didn't pay a king's ransom to be saddled with this mechanical beast in its death throes. When I voiced my concerns, the Hertz employee responded with a nonchalance that was a disgrace to customer service. The words "the car is fine" still echo in my ears, a mocking reminder of my plight. It felt as if my words fell on deaf ears, an exercise in futility. In conclusion, I wouldn't just avoid recommending Hertz, I would actively dissuade anyone from approaching this business. The disgraceful employee conduct, the dilapidated establishment, and the abominable condition of the vehicle were ingredients in a cocktail of disappointment. Hertz needs to drastically improve its standards or risk becoming a cautionary tale in the annals of the car rental industry. I was subjected to a deeply distressing experience, and I refuse to let Hertz tarnish my future endeavors.
Absolutely disgusting!!!! The car was dirty and smelled completely rancid. No one ever picks up the phone and the voice mailbox is full. They were almost a hour late picking me up even though I have confirmed the pick up time that same day. This place has absolutely no respect for you, your time, or the money you are paying them. Avoid at all cost.
Do not rent from here! I booked a car rental here through an insurance claim and this location confirmed the reservation and said they would be there to pick me up from the body shop. Not only did they NOT SHOW UP, but I was unable to reach anyone from the office. I moved my reservation to Enterprise and they quickly and promptly took care of me.
I wish I can give zero star. I never been mistreated by a Customer service rep like this ever. I went on May 7, 2020 to pick up the car that was booked by the insurance. Everything went ok, the customer service rep Kevin was very nice. When I went to the parking to pick up the car, I discovered that the safety inspection on the windshield was expired. I went immediately back to the office and informed Kevin about the issue. His solution was to give me another car that wasn't washed not sanitized Covid19. Since I didn't have a choice I took the car. During the weekend I went with my wife out in the car and that's when she started having an allergic reaction my wife is allergic to dogs. I returned immediately home and discovered some dog paws inside the vehicle. Since it was the weekend and didn't really need the car I called Monday to request to swap the car the car had also dog smell and cigarettes smell on the phone I talked to Rahil and he was very understanding and told me to stop by at my earliest convenience. When i went back to swap the car that same day that's I when i met Evonte. Mr. Evonte wasn't at the desk and was out picking up a customer. When he got back He was still with the customer that he brought back with him asked me from 20ft away if I am returning a car. I answered politely that I will explain my situation when he's done with the customer on front of him. He told me again that I can drop the keys in the return box placed outside, again I told him to please finish the transaction with the customer and I will explain my problem in detail when it's my turn. Believe it or not, his answer was I am saving you time here and if I want another cat I won't have any I am just waisting my time waiting. That's when I told him to out of respect to the customer on front of him I am not going to answer anymore questions until he's done. When it was finally my turn, he didn't even give the chance to explain, he said that he doesn't have any other car if that's why I am there for. I finally explained to him the problems that I had He didn't really care and that I am not leaving without swapping the car. To retaliate, he gave me the oldest ugliest car in the lot. I asked him I can get another car and was willing to pay the difference. He insisted that he didn't have a car. I called the insurance while waiting for the paper work and they upgraded my reservation but still he didn't want to give another car. The car unavailability wasn't the issue, the issue was Mr Evonte behavior.
