HORRIBLE. I spoke with Joe about picking up my rental car the day before. I arrived at 9:55AM on a Tuesday, and nobody was there. I called and heard the phone ringing inside but it doesn't connect you to any answering service. Why would an employee tell a reservation to come and not be open? Ended up at ENTERPRISE down the road which was open and professional. Don't go here!
Went to get a car from this location he was supposed to open at 12:00pm didn’t open till 2:00 stayed open for 10min and closed I called customer service before hand the lady told me my card would work I got here and he told me it would not. So I told him to cancel the reservation. I guess he did not so they charged my card a fee for him not canceling the reservation
I want to thank Joe once again for salvaging my vacation plans. I had reserved a car in Mahopac because it was a bit closer and in the direction I would be heading. This was a big mistake since the location was deserted when I arrived five minutes before the reservation time. I was able to get someone at the adjoining service station to send a text to the tell the owner that I was waiting. There was no response and, after a half hour of waiting, I got in touch with Hertz and cancelled the reservation and made a new one in Mohegan Lake. In Mohegan, the experience was the exact opposite. Joe was there, where he was supposed to be, and helped me in every way possible. This helped a lot and somewhat made up for the Mahopac experience. Joe was also extremely professional and helpful when I brought the car back two weeks later. I would definitely use this location if I am ever renting a car in this area in the future and hope that Joe gets recognition from Hertz management.
I rented a car from them this week and Joe was amazing! He could not have been more accommodating. I wanted a small SUV and he delivered, giving me a really nice mid size one. Enterprise tried to give me a smaller car for $26 more a DAY. He offered rides, he was courteous, and made the process so easy. I would definitely recommend.
I've had nothing but good experiences with the manager. It's a small office, so at times he's outside, but there's a sign in the lobby with his cel phone number. I've had to wait for him to come back a few times, but it's no longer than waiting at line in a busy rental office. The wait is well offset by the personalized service you receive. Not too many car rental places that work with you so closely on your choice of vehicle and making sure you get the best deal. I go back over and over to this location because of the manager. Great cars, great service.
Stay away from this place. I had a confirmed reservation. They sent me a reminder about the reservation two days before. But when I went to pick up the rental, the place was closed. I called Hertz customer service and the rep told me that this place was permanently closed. I have no idea why they allow reservations for locations that are closed. I spoke with two representatives at this company and they kept directing me to reach out other Hertz locations but none of them had any cars available. They didn't seem to understand that it was bad practice to allow reservations at places that are not open. Looking at other reviews, it seems I haven't been the only one. Is this place even open? Who knows. If it is, don't make a reservation.
First time renting from this location was great so we expected the same with he second rental. Both rentals were reserved online and prepaid. The second rental was bad from the beginning as we were down classed to a Nissan Versa due to availability and told there would be a $50 credit the car itself had scratches and dings. Then we realize, after leaving, that the car was greasy inside and had a bad odor. Yet later on, its realized that the windshield wipers needed replacing and the antennae was missing from the car. Awful, but too late to make change. Now we are finding that we never received the $50 credit and this location is really hard to get a person to answer, nor is there an answering machine that takes message . Bo did speak to someone 2 weeks ago who said he would look into it and call me back, but I have not heard back. I have tried 3x during business hours in the last 1.5 weeks. I'm hoping this bad experience is because they are understaffed and hope that is remedied soon because this is a convenient location and our first experience was great.
Don't even bother or waste your time with this place! This location does not even appear open for business. I reserved a rental car online to pick up at this location & there was nobody working at this Hertz location when I went to pick up the rental car at 4:30pm this location is listed to close at 5pm: lights were off, gate was closed, & you could see & hear the phone ringing on the desk. I had to contact the Hertz Company directly to cancel my rental & file a complaint about this location.
Joe provided us with excellent customer service. He was professional, curtious and helpful. We choose to do a three day rental and ended up finishing everything we wanted to do the first day and Joe was more than understanding and helpful when we were returning the rental vehicle! I will definetly rent from hertz on my next trip! Thank you Joe!
I had a reservation and confirmation number yet when I arrived to pick up the rental the location appears closed. I am not from the area so not being able to pick up the car completely ruins my plans as I made this reservation weeks ago. Talked to security in the building and they told me another customer was also trying to pick up a reservation with no success. Do not reward this type of business practice with your hard earned money.
