If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. It was not a good experience. When I walked in to pick up my car, the person working at the counter was texting on her phone. Someone in the shop said her name and she wouldn't turn around. She eventually did acknowledge me and was helpful once she did. Fast forward a few weeks after I dropped the car off, I noticed a weird charge on my credit card. I called the Hopkins location, they have no record of my name or me renting a car. Just an extremely unorganized/unprofessional experience. If you can rent a car anywhere else, I would highly recommend it.
Over all not a good experience. Normally I go to enterprise thought I would try I knew company. Won't go back to Hertz ever. It started out when I rented the car a took 35 minutes. Then I took off and realized the guy never gave me the keys. So I called and said I was home and did not have the keys. He says well come on back so I ended up wasting 20 minutes driving back to their shop. Then come to find out I paid for a weekly rental that I only get for 5 days. When I called to ask them they said that's too badd that's how they had already set it up. Over all just not a very good experience
I will NO LONGER BE A CUSTOMER SINCE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT IMPORTANT TO HERTZ due to giving me two cars with bad tires and that had a foul smell. Also this location in Hopkins had bad customer service so definitely do not recommend going here or hertz at all but if you will DO NOT go to this location. Side note for HERTZ: whoever y’all are paying to “clean” out the cars, it would be very wise to ensure that it’s ACTUALLY GETTING DONE AND THAT IT DOES NOT STINK ANYMORE. That’s the least you can do considering we customers are paying for that.
Needed a rental car for Monday morning, ordered online Sunday. Picked up a car at the open on Monday. Got a rental car as expected. Clean and in good shape. Was able to drop the car off a day early, no issues. Great experience and friendly staff.
The staff at this Hertz location were excellent in their attitude and very competent. The manager went above and beyond in helping me by pointing out ways to save money on the purchase as well as future purchases. I honestly always considered Hertz as a last resort because of the expense but this experience has now put Hertz at the top of my car rental list.
I would like to share with people out there an example of the worst customer service I have ever experienced in all my many visits to the States. The company I am naming and shaming is Hertz. My husband and I have just arrived in Minneapolis having ridden a Harley from New Orleans. We have enjoyed six road trips to date and have never had cause to complain about anything until now. In order to enjoy our last few days after dropping off the bike and before flying home we hired a car from Hertz. We booked in May and paid up front. We received a confirmation email and a couple of weeks before we flew out we checked in on line. Today we called at the designated address to pick up our car only to find the office hours had changed and they were no longer open Saturday. Hertz failed to inform us of the change. Back at the motorsports shop we rang Hertz based at the airport and were told they could do nothing. Further calls to other Hertz centres proved fruitless. We were stranded without transport and now consider Hertz in breach of their contract. We have since hired from another company at great personal expense.
I accidentally left one of my items in the vehicle and contacted them to see if they'd found it. Unfortunately they had not but the gentleman I spoke with wasn't very helpful or understanding and repeated that they are not responsible for lost items. I never intended to hold them responsible, it's my responsibility if I forget something, but I do expect companies I do business with to treat me with more helpfulness and kindness when I do forget something. I kept trying to explain that in the compact car we rented things hide under the seats really well and that when we received the vehicle we also found items from a previous renter, so I asked that he double check as there was a chance my item was still there. He seemed to take this as an attack, and eventually hung up on me. So what I've gotten from that is that they don't thoroughly clean vehicles between customers and if you need customer service they will hang up on you. Won't be coming here again, as other companies would have at least tried to help before hanging up.
Horrible experience here at Hertz in Hopkins. I had to get a ride from lyft because they aren't able to deliver a car. Then had to wait in a crowded room for 20+ minutes before they assisted me. After the staff was arguing with another customer. Then the car wasnt even clean and had a tire pressure warning light on. I didn't have time to trade vehicles. Lastly, I called to ask for a receipt the person put me on hold for 10 minutes then told me to dial the 1800 number for the receipt because he didnt have time to send it. Horrible customer experience.
I rented a car at Hopkins Hertz through my insurance after an accident. The quality of the car was great. My poor experience was I was overcharged on the daily rate I was quoted when I picked my car up and then charged for 12 days when I had it for 7 days. I called Hertz the day I saw I was overcharged and they stated they'd refund my money that was 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received a refund. Should my refund show up, I'd change my rating. But I for sure will make sure my insurance company that contracts with them is aware of my experience. *** Update*** after contacting State Farm and making them aware of my experience, being that Hertz is a preferred company for State Farm, my agent Jim Lindahl contacted Hertz which ultimately got me my refund.***
This was not a good place to rent from. It is not really "local," the car rented to me needed some work done, and the car seat I also rented for my son was not safe. For starters, the car badly needed a tune up and the RPM would go between 4 and 5 before the car would even really get going to around 35mph. Getting onto the freeway was horrible!!! The engine even "knocked" a bit. I also borrowed a car seat for my son, but they do not even clean them between renters. Additionally, the straps to hold my son in the seat were not fully installed, so they were REALLY loose and thank GOD nothing happened while I had the rental. Now, when I went to refill prior to returning the vehicle, the cap boldly says "E85," indicating that is the only gas you can use. I frantically searched throughout 3 different cities, not finding one gas station with this gas, only to be told the next day by Bridget, the mgr, that "regular gas can be put in. You could have called the 800 number and they would have told you that." WHAT?!? This is something that NEEDS to be indicated to the renter upon renting!!!! As a result, I incurred refill fees, which was not the right thing to do. When I attempted to discuss this with her, I was talked down to as though I should have known to call the 800 number, like they would really, truly know. This is BS. Do NOT rent from Hertz, they are a rip off. Had it not been for my insurance covering this, I would have never rented from them. Save your time, money, and energy, rent from somewhere else.
