My car is in the shop for repairs and I made a reservation at this location for a rental. Showed up on time, just to be told they don’t have any cars. I ended up going to the Enterprise right up the street and they had plenty of cars for rent crazy concept for a car rental business to have car rentals. On top of that I attempted to cancel my reservation since I had to get a car elsewhere and they were gonna charge me a $27 cancellation fee! Had to call the 1-800 number and sit on hold for 10 minutes to waive the fee worst hold music I’ve ever had to listen to as well. I understand that things happen and I’m not even mad they didn’t have any cars, I’m more mad that they couldn’t be bothered to notify me that they didn’t have any available, so I could have reserved one elsewhere and not had to pay ‘walk in’ prices. Save your time, energy, and money and just go to Enterprise.
Once again Hertz disappoints. This company is not the company it used to be. I reserved a mid sized SUV Ford Explorer or equivalent 5 days in advance of my trip. They sent me 2 different emails: one 3 days in advance and one 2 days in advance both confirmed the reservation. I arrive at appointed time & the mgr tells me "Oh, we tried to reach you but we don't have your phone number on file." Maybe not sure why? but you certainly have my email address!! "We are sorry, we have no SUV's left." To say that this is extremely poor customer service doesn't even come close to how bad they are. There were no other acceptable cars on their very limited selection. I'll go to Rent-a-Wreck before I ever go back to "Hurts." I'm done. I have other Hurts stories but I won't bore you.
We reserved a rental car at this location. After spending about $30 in Uber to get to the Hertz location the receptionist told us that there was no cars available and that their computer system routinely allows rentals to be reserved when they have no inventory. There was not alternative options given and no assistance with canceling the existing reservation. We were just told to call customer service. Very disappointed. Huge waste of time and money. You are better off renting from Enterprise 1/2 mile down the road. I would be hard pressed to use Hertz service again.
I reserved an EV vehicle online. Forgot to enter the AAA code. Got to the Hertz HB location: 1 the lovely rep said she could not add the code since it was reserved online, and told me to call customer support, 2 the EV, which was NOT the one I reserved online, had 78-mile charge on it, not full charge. RE: AAA code, I called customer support and was told to tell the rep at the time of returning vehicle to apply the AAA code, that it could not be applied mid-rental. Upon returning the car, the same lovely rep said she could NOT apply the code, that I had to call customer support. Dios mio! She also almost charged me for taking the EV back with 90-mile charge and not full charge, 'til I showed her the contract & photo I took when leaving the lot. Called the customer support RE: AAA code and, a month later, the "customer service certificate" arrives in the mail. Yay! Was it worth it? Yes, for trying out an EV vehicle--won't be buying one for a while. Hertz hurts both times I rented in 2023. No bueno.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I made a reservation and they refused to rent me a car, telling me none were available. There were plenty of cars on the lot. I told them I had just gotten dropped off and my car was at the mechanics. So I was stranded and they shrugged it off and just told me to walk and take it up with corporate Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
They either have a ton of cars or very few, so just make sure you plan ahead or reserve online. They always have quick service. The longest I’ve ever waited is 5 minutes. I use them almost weekly. Dave the manager is a customer focused leader of this great branch!
Multiple people this morning arrived and no cars were available for them. Terrible location that takes reservations but has no cars
Sorry for delay to post this review but really its worthy and y’ll deserve it . Its almost 4 month for that experience when i start dealing with your office @ Chrysler jeep dodge HB /CA specially with your customer service Rep TERSA … Regardless to my bad experience with HB dodge for my car problem but every time when i drop my car there to fix it and get the rental car TRESA really communicate with every customer in super helpful , profissional way …and for my experience with her …i feel always like all your cars fleet is mine … She is really A pleasant , smart hard worker and she deserve more than this respectful appreciation review . Am really always happy with her service …she is not just doing her job but she is outstanding and beyond customer satisfaction I really appreciate y’ll for hiring , Support , train and trust this type of staff . Thank you
Iman made it easy to do business with Hertz. Pick up and drop off was straight forward and Iman took his time to explain how to thoroughly use the Tesla that I rented since I'd never driven one before. He was both knowledgeable and courteous. I recommend asking for him if your headed to the Huntington Beach Hertz location, I know I will for any future rentals.
Reserved a vehicle for a work appointment. 1 hour before pickup I receive a call that they do not have that vehicle and the only thing they can offer me is $50.00 more per day. I told her that was unacceptable and to call her manager as I didn't feel it was my fault they advertised a car they didn't have and I shouldn't have to pay anymore money for their mistake. She call back and says the manager couldn't do anything and the vehicle they had offered me at the higher price they just traded to another location and they don't have anything to give me. Just unbelievable how these businesses run.
