Super helpful staff, it is my tradition now to go to this bookstore every year for one of my hardest to buy for books at least friends. Every recommendation they have ever given me has been excellent, and well received by the birthday girl! I also Treated the extensive New Yorker cartoon card collection! And there’s always cute little gifts at the register to buy. The free gift wrapping is also great!
Great location; charming exterior. Even better, interior is brimming with books, carefully curated stationery, and small gifts. Selection in the poetry section is worth noting.

Great book store, been here once maybe 10 years ago or so. Definitely updated selection, loads of good contemporary stuff too.
I LOVE this bookstore. The 5th star is withheld only for the reason that I wish they had a stronger collection of independent authors. Other than that, Books on the Common truly epitomizes the concept of the local bookshop.
I ordered all my Christmas books from here this year and the experience has been amazing. Super helpful staff, great communication. They are even wrapping them for me! Could not be happier to support such a gem of a local business.
This is a wonderful bookstore with a diverse selection. New books are always coming in. The staff is always helpful and friendly and will do everything possible to locate a book. If it's not in the store, it can be ordered with usually a two day turnaround. They also have a great YA and children's section. A mention is needed for the greeting cards: there are unique, funny, warm and cute cards. A much better selection than what one finds in a drugstore.

Best gift under the tree this year was a gift certificate to this wonderful book shop. Friendly, entire staff very knowledgeable the high school staff should not be dismissed-they know their books, great atmosphere and they're very supportive of the community. If you're in RIdgefield, this is a Must Visit!!
Wonderful small bookstore with new books. I can only speak for the history section and it is excellent. Loads of books I had not seen and I go into every book store. My husband even found a book about the Battle of Arnhem that he did not know about, and WWII history is his job. Amazing!!
