The Forest Preserve District of Will County's Hickory Creek Preserve - Barrens Nature Preserve provides a parking area, shelter, latrine, water fountain, and access to the 3.03-mile, paved west branch of the Hickory Creek Bikeway, ideal for bicycling, hiking/running, in-line skating, and, in the winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Open 8 a.m.-sunset.

Beautiful scenery and a paved road excellent for biking. It also merges into the Old Plank Trail Road.

Very beautiful perserve. Its nice that there is untouched land in the middle of an urban area. Alway it is maintained very well. There are some good plants out there.

Perfect place to take a nice stroll and become one with nature. Also really nice for working out and even though there is a sign that says no pets, I seen plenty of people with there dogs. So very nice to walk your pup, just please clean up after them!

It's a nice site which counterbalances a busy intersection.  The trail quickly takes to quieter and shadier places and provides good cardio for runners, walkers, and bicyclists.

Lovely path and preserve! They just did major controlled burned and I was upset to see 1/5 of the Forrest go but, am glad for the others to come!
