Hickory Point Park is a perfect destination for a day's outing. Guest can enjoy the swimming beach, boardwalks, outdoor picnic areas with barbecue grills, open-field play areas, nature trail, playground, horseshoe pits, and sand volleyball court. Ample parking accomodates cars and boat trailers. Twelve boat ramps are available for launching, including two deep draft ramps for deep-draft vessels including sail boats. We also have a day-use marina with two fishing piers. The marina can accomodate boats up to 10' X 30'. We also have a two story screened in pavilion available to rent for various functions.
Established in 1953, the Lake County Water Authority's legislative purposes are to:
1. Control and conserve the freshwater resources of Lake County.
2. Foster and improve the tourist buisness in the County by improvements to the streams, lakes, and canals.
3. Provide recreational facilities by a more efficient use of the streams, lakes, and canals.
4. Preserve, protect, and improve the fish and wildlife of the County.
5. Protect the freshwater resources through assisting local governments in treatment of stormwater runoff.
