Hello, I called High's Chimney Service to inspect and give me and estimate on Chimney repairs and we were very surprised of how detailed and thorough the inspection was, how knowledgeable the Technician Matt was, and how Mr. Matt presented the presentation/findings of the inspections. Mr. Matt and Mr. Oscar got up on our roof to perform the inspections and he also provided us with detailed pictures of the damages of the Chimneys. We really appreciate the "going the extra mile". This was very nice to have High's Chimney service come out and they were very capable of offering solutions and in giving explanations re the Chimney inspections. Matt and his colleague did a wonderful job cleaning my wood stove and chimney and checking on the chimney. They were very professional and friendly. Matt explained everything in detail and gave us multiple options regarding servicing our chimney. They were also incredibly tidy and clean, leaving no trace of them having even come into the house. I highly recommend them!
Nick was awesome. He was timely and gave me a call when he was in the neighborhood right before he arrived. He was polite. I appreciated his knowledge and ability to explain things well. He showed me plenty of pictures of my chimney and explained the problem in detail. He was patient with my questions. He even pointed out things like the open damper on my other chimney and offered to close it for me. Waiting for an estimate but the initial process has been great so far.
UPDATE: Before and after photos posted. They did a great job. Replaced 5 layers of brick on the chimney, replaced brick on shoulder of the chimney, replaced cap and waterproofing on the entire chimney completed. I did see photos from the top I just don’t have them to post. ~ Donna K. Tyrone was absolutely wonderful! As a first time home owner, I don’t know much about anything when it comes to home repairs. He was patient and friendly answering all of my many questions and definitely made me comfortable with the fact that the job will be done professionally and will be done right. When getting ready to leave he noticed the trash had been collected and without me even asking, he went and brought them in for me. We had extensive work performed on three fireplaces, including application of HeatShield liners, new chimney crowns, and a gas insert installation in one fireplace. After researching many companies we selected High’s. They did superb work—-professional, prompt and knowledgeable. The project manager, Hank, was excellent, always available and with great advice and took the time to explain each step. The entire crew was awesome. We highly recommend High’s for any fireplace work!
When it came time to replace our wood stove insert, we contacted several companies. High’s stood out from the pack right from the start. Lee came to our house and gave us a thorough estimate. He promptly responded to all of our questions over the next few days. He checked in with us over the next couple of weeks as we gathered additional estimates. His timing was just enough to express his eagerness to have our business without being bothersome. The service crew that removed the old stove, cleaned the fireplace, and installed the new stove was friendly and efficient. From start to finish, we were pleased with the people — especially Lee — and the product. Lee’s professionalism and responsiveness tipped the scales in favor of High’s. And we got a good price. We highly recommend them.
Installation of a wood burning fireplace e insert. David and his team did a great job with the custom installation required for the existing arched fireplace. They took great care to maintain cleanliness, and completed the job in a timely manner. Definitely a model of performance that others should emulate.
No one likes spending money. But when you need to spend money it's great to be sure you understand why you need to spend it. Justin and his partner arrived on time, explained what they were going to be doing and approximately how long it would take, they made sure to protect my wood floors as they completed their inspection and cleaning, and took photos of each concern to review and discuss it with us. A few issues were found which was to be expected in a 30yr+ home. Justin prioritized each item that needed addressed and provided me with quotes and options ensuring that I was not overwhelmed with a sales pitch. The critical items were repaired today as promised and quotes are being worked on for a future wood burning stove addition. I'm very satisfied with the professional approach to the work done today and look forward to working with the team again soon.
T. Slater was terrific. He took his time to explain what was going on with our chimney and shared photos. He gave us an estimate and let us know what to prioritize based on our budget.
Last spring we noticed some water around our fireplace insert. I hired High’s to do a chimney sweep and an inspection. The crew arrived on time and was very respectful of our home, taking care to keep the work area clean. However, when I asked them if they would remove the bricks in the insert to vacuum the ashes that get trapped behind them and they said they didn’t do that. When I asked them if they would remove the faceplate around the insert to clean and inspect the fireplace around the insert they said they didn’t do that. So I remove the faceplates and remove the bricks so that they could vacuum more completely and they could see the state of the insert and the fireplace. Even then they did not vacuum around the insert in the fireplace. I take it as a warning when a contractor needs to be pushed to do their job. This was just a sweep and inspection, but for more serious work like a repair where I don’t necessarily know what has to be done, I don’t want to wonder if the contractor is taking shortcuts. They were very thorough with the inspection on the outside of the chimney, and proposed all kinds of improvements. I may consider having them do some of the repairs and if I do I will update here…
