As the 5th great grandson of George Robison, I would personally like to give a shout out and thank you to the historical society and all involved in the restoration and preservation of George's log cabin. Magnificent work! While I've not been able to visit there myself yet, my cousin Barb Romanczuk George Robison's 4th great granddaughter has, and has taken some wonderful photos from her visit. I will attach them to this post giving her full credit for them. It's so important to keep as much history alive as possible and make it available for future generations to come and visit and see firsthand what life was like back in the early 1800s. Again, I deeply thank the historical society and all involved in the preservation of this cabin, and all the rest of the Robison's descendants thank you too from the bottom of our hearts!
I love the Highland House! All of the staff and volunteers are always so kind. They have an amazing gift shop and great seasonal events. If you are looking for something to do in Highland County, this is a good choice!
Fantastic museum full of artifacts. Staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions. Many interesting gadgets to look upon and try to guess what they are for. Great place for middle school age kids and above. Our visit in December the facility was decorated for Christmas. Highland House Museum free admission is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!
Great Staff in charge of this County and Building preservation.
