Hillcrest Park

Description

Hillcrest Park is located in the Riley Park-Little Mountain neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia. It is located immediately north of Queen Elizabeth Park and west of Riley Park.Next to Hillcrest Park is the site containing Nat Bailey Stadium, home of the Vancouver Canadians baseball team; the Millennium Sports Centre, home to both the Phoenix Gymnastics Club and the Pacific Indoor Bowls Club; and the Vancouver Racquets Club. The little league Little Mountain Baseball has its ballpark and clubhouse in Hillcrest Park. They also use ballparks at Riley Park for the younger age groups. In addition, there are two larger diamonds used by Vancouver Community Baseball. During the soccer season the ballparks are converted to be used as soccer fields by various competitive and recreational leagues.Hillcrest Park also is home to the Vancouver Curling Club. It had been at the south-west corner of the park in a small building, with only 5 sheets. With the 2010 Winter Olympics coming to Vancouver the club gained and expanded facility, at the Hillcrest Centre, next door to the Millennium Sports Centre. The new facility houses a new community centre, library, ice rink, curling arena, and the Percy Norman Aquatic Centre. Construction of the arena started in March 2007 and was mostly completed by February 2009. The aquatics portion of the building was completed in spring of 2009, and the final renovations to finish the community centre occurred after the 2010 Winter Games.

It's very kid friendly and the community and the area feels very safe for my toddler. The amenities are clean and they have everything for sport activities from the gym, swimming pool and ice rink and a number of fields as well. If you're into baseball, the stadium is just right beside. Parking is easy to find except when there's a game but there is some street parking around so it's not that big of a deal. If you want to chill and lounge around there's a library and a cafe inside that even sells ice cream perfect for the weather right now! Perfect cold sweet treat for my toddler as well! If you have kids definitely recommend this place.
Very convenient location and has multiple sports and exercise facilities. Large lawn for playing for all ages. Parking is sometimes a challenge as it's popularity.
One of the most beautiful park ! In Vancouver Dog friendly nice public washroom Clean well maintained Super duper recommend! Nice play ground for kids ! Wonderful picnic area for family Playground: Well.done Restrooms: Clean and bjg Dog-friendliness: Good Picnic area: Nice
Great multi sport facility for curling, hockey, swimming with baseball venue and indoor lawn bowling right next door. The only problem is occasional parking issues when the Canadians play baseball. Clean and well run facility.
There always seems to be a pool open here to take the kids to. The 'River' is a fantastic float for young and old. Reasonably clean for a busy community center.
Great venue. Nice pool for family. Ice surface isn't the very best in Vancouver but the dressing rooms and benches are good
This is the first time going here since it was built for the Olympics in 2010 and took the place of Riley Park arena. A great rink and fabulous swimming pool and rec center. Very impressive.
Great place for the whole family, pool, ice rink, library, community center, soccer fields. Parking was a bit busy at times and the adjoining kids playground is kind of weak.
Lots of space for young kids to run around, including big hills, walkways, lawn and an astroturf field. Fun trick -- put a 2 year old on a painted white line in the baseball diamond and they'll continue following the line. My kid ran in circles for 5 minutes straight.
Love the pool, saunas, hot tub and lazy river! A great way to have family fun! Everything's clean and the staff is friendly. An awesome experience awaits!!
