How nice to find a place with such value. My room was clean, unit was well maintained understand, it is an older roadside motel the owner was very nice. No bugs, no loud neighbors and I felt very comfortable. I'll drop by again next time I'm traveling through.Rooms: 4/5
I've stayed here several times on the past month or so. I wanted to wait to write a review until I had enough experiences here to give an honest review. The rooms are small, but extremely clean and cozy. The man with whom I booked the room all 3 times was personable, friendly, funny and all in all very welcoming. This motel is a clean, quiet, restful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding cities several within 15 minutes. Also, it happens to be located smack dab in the middle of some of the best fishing locations in Connecticut.
Today I was looking for a motel for my son to stay at for the week and the owner had told me over the phone I could pay with cash. When we arrived here, we were greeted very rudely because my son was being stereotyped just for having tattoos. When speaking to the owner, my son had assured him that he’s a very clean person and there would be no problems with him staying there for the week. He was then very disrespectful by giving dirty looks and then refused for us to be able to buy a room. The whole experience was very confusing because as stated, we were just looking for a motel for my son to stay at for the week and we weren’t expecting for the owner of the establishment to be so rude. Horrible customer service and the rooms aren’t worth the price.
Stayed here 3x. 1st time was my father who was visiting out of town and needed a place to stay. I stayed with him and owner was extremely rude to us. Banged on our door at 10amas thats checkout time. Nvr heard of that. Wants money. We paid him. Then recently 2 weeks ago i myself needed a room. Got room 4.was nice and fairly clean. No complaints. Figured id come bak and give it a go for a week long stay. He again was cocky and rude and gave me ROOM 12. by the 3rd day i was eaten alive with hundreds of bedbug bites. Didnt sleep in the bed for 2 nights. Politely confronted him about the situation and he immediately denied it and said i brought the bedbugs. I then told him if i cant get another room id be leaving. He said fine pack up and leave and i did. Went for my refund and he refused to give me my money back. Had to call cops and they came. He gave me a measly 84$ back after the cops talked to him or else he would have nvr done it. Still should of been a full 290$ refund..I feel dirty, infected and disgusted like nvr b4..also had to throw away 80% of my belongings as he laughed at me. It was all a joke to him. NEVER EVER STAY HERE ESPECIALLY IN ROOM 12!! IT HAS BUGS. LOTS OF BEDBUGS!!! Also guy is an absolute ahole to women. Any woman he will treat any woman like garbage. Hope this saves someone the trouble. It certainly fkd me over in more ways than 1. Ugh
This not a lux motel, but you will not feel more welcome anywhere. Edison, the owner, goes out of his way to make you feel like you are at home. Rooms are a bit snug, but are clean,with fresh linens , new beds and carpeting. Everything works as expected. Oh ya, did I mention it's in an area of lovely little towns and villages Price is Right making this a true super value. Paddlers are especially welcome with the Farmington River Less than a half mile away.
Perfect as an easy, inexpensive, and quiet motel. The owners are fantastic and the rooms are very clean. I've used this motel several times over the past few years and have never had a problem of any sort. I highly recommend it.
I've been staying here for 25 to 30 years that person Chris Plotner is wrong there's no bugs..... And definitely no bed bugs... I'd love to see Chris Potheads stupid house. What a jerk. Again there are no bugs. Except outside where if you're Fly fisherman there's plenty of mayflies and caddisflies and all other kinds of flies.
Dirty, Bugs, Disrepair, Outdated, Mouse dropping, Ants, Spiders and remnants of old bedbugs in room 12 twin mattress. The most disgusting motel I have ever stayed in, if not for a family emergency we would have left.
It old but well taken care of and clean. The owners there and you get to deal with him directly. He takes pride in this Motel. It is a super value.
