Each Student, Every Day
As Sussex County's only independent school, Hilltop Country Day School embraces a "pioneering" spirit, which guides us as we work to develop a model school program that is committed to providing a highly educational environment for all children.
A Hilltop education provides its graduates with sound learning foundations in the academics, the arts and 21st century skills. Opportunities are numerous and varied as students develop a true sense of confidence in oneself, a strong sense of responsibility and a real sense of what it means to be a person. Across the curriculum, skills required to think critically, solve problems and know how to work both independently and collaboratively in a group are cultivated as each Hilltop student discovers how they learn best.
Hilltop Country Day School is a wonderful and exciting place to learn. The school’s work with children age 2 through Grade 8 is set in a unique environment for learning. We understand that children learn most effectively in an environment that is academically challenging, emotionally safe and socially warm.
The heart of our school is our faculty. Our teachers bring experience, knowledge of child development, and expertise in their areas of specialty to every interaction with our students. Hilltop respects individual differences and values our partnership with families. Together our teachers, professional staff, parents, alumnae and friends play an integral role in the Hilltop education experience and together help establish a strong sense of community and shared endeavor.
Hilltop Country Day School is committed to providing a family-oriented, nurturing, creative, highly educational environment in which children:
Discover the excitement of learning;
Develop good study habits;
Grow in self-esteem and self-confidence;
Develop sensitivity and respect for the rights and abilities of others; and
Learn to accept responsibility and meet personal challenges.
