Was placed in a room designed for handicapped, don’t understand why it would not have been kept available for a customer who may benefit from it. An example being the bathroom was extra large in that a wheelchair could have easily been in it and turned around with ease. The door also had security features that a person in a wheelchair could use. The window blinds were down when I entered the room and I could not figure out how to open them since there were no ropes/chains attached to the blinds although it looked like someone previously had pulled them from the side window tracks the blinds were supposed to remain in. Expected better based on the cost.
The front desk clerks both in the morning and afternoon were very unhelpful. Although they were not rude, they were not friendly at all. Upon checking in there was live music in the restaurant area that overpowered being able to hear anything at the front desk. This hotel does not have a free breakfast, you have to pay more for it. We paid extra but we’re not told that breakfast was not until 7am. A friendly explanation of how breakfast works is highly recommended upon check in…but if live music is playing then there would be no way to hear it anyways. The room had what looked like a blood spot dripping down the wall, a tub with orange stains, spots on the bathroom ceiling, and a broken toilet paper holder. This was the last hotel we stayed at on an 8 day journey, and the only one that I gave a negative review to despite one of the hotels being in ”worse” condition than this one. Friendly and outgoing people at check in does make a huge difference.
