We love this park. We’ve come twice now and it’s clean and the toys are new and cute. We haven’t run into any other families or kids tho.
Great play structure and large baseball field. The park is very spread out and has a large sized section for grilling and has restrooms
Wednesday around noon, park not usable. Inundated with water and mud. Asked around and heard this happens weekly. Told usually Thursdays but found it like this on a Wednesday. Hope this can be helpful to others looking for a grassy place for small children to run. Will try again sometime on a different day.
Trashed, can't use areas due to residents. Could be a very good park. Returned for the third time today, 05/29/22 and changed stars from two to four. I was able to appreciate a beautiful medium sized park. Today positives far outweigh the negatives. Also the park appears to have a long history. The shade trees are mature and mostly healthy. Irrigating is not the best but probably the only option. It does nothing for the area used for playing soccer. It was a nice experience seeing a number of parents walking to the park playground and then walking home with their young children. One parent on a swing with very young child on his lap.
Nice enough, bit small, "better than nothing" bathrooms. Well lit in the evenings. Usually a few homeless people. Decent picnic area and basketball court.
A great little park. It was clean and a great place to walk the dog.
Hollis Park is a sweet little park surrounded by homes and bordered by a school. It's quite and pleasant on the weekdays and very busy on weekends. It's a nice respite from the city. There is a play area with sand and some equipment for kids to play on and a rather large covered veranda with tables near the center. It has nice, clean restroom facilities and 1 drinking fountain. It also has as 2 Pokemon stops and a Gym.
Dedicated to Tempe civic pioneers Burt & Leslie Hollis this recently renovated neighborhood park provides a nice choice of ramadas, playground, and basketball court. Also restroom facilities remain available. BUT and with an eye to everyone's health and well-being concerns that the park may be a new haven for homeless people. It's the harsh reality that without a unified approach and system to support mental health we place all of us at risk. What are the steps that the city of Tempe is doing to address this issue particularly since Hollis Park is adjacent to Hudson Elementary? City parks like Hollis Park should not bear the burden of neglect and indifference to a non-existent mental health care system. This should be a space to savor, relax, & share with each other not to bear the illness and distress of fellow citizens .
Nice little park needs a bit of updating to the playground equipment but still good
Do not listen to the people bashing this park due to the "homeless vagrants" that "camp" there. First off the park is always well maintained. The new bathrooms are nice. Sure, there are a few residentially challenged people who do frequent this park but I assure you they are very nice and furthermore, they are the reason the park stays so well maintained as they pick up the parks trash.
