I needed some gears to get ready for my upcoming dive trip and this shop had the best reviews so I decided to come here. As I entered the store, I was greeted by Hal and he was able to help me out with everything: mask, fins, boots, dive light, snorkel, etc. He is super friendly, knowledgeable, and gave me a lot of tips and tricks to prep for my trip. Just got back from my week long dive trip yesterday and let me tell you, all the gears that I bought fit me so well and worked great. Thank you Hal and will be back again for sure!
Literally the most helpful, informative dive shop in LA. They have been around forever and have a fantastic reputation but do not rest on their laurels. They will give you the time you deserve and take pride in their experience and knowledge. The shop is organized, staff are incredibly fun and friendly, the equipment is top notch.
I've been into Hollywood Divers a few times for masks & snorkels, and I 100% recommend this shop. The staff & owner are super helpful & assisted my wife & myself fitting & buying our first serious dive masks, and made sure we were fitted correctly & knew how to wear the masks for best comfort & seal. Really positive attitude around the shop, and all the staff are committed to making sure customers are properly equipped to enjoy diving. I'll definitely be coming back for additional gear.
What an absolute pleasure to spend a little over an hour at Hollywood Divers this morning. Everyone on staff was super helpful and willing to share information and major props to Hal for helping me find the right wet suit, mask, fins, snorkel, and dive computer! I couldn't ask for better service. While it's possible to buy equipment online at a slight discount, I visited their store because I wanted more than just the gear, I wanted professional, experienced input before purchasing. Being able to speak with people who are active and avid divers, who are able to share their experience and recommendations, is well worth paying a little more money. Btw, when you walk in, you're greeted, treated with respect, and you feel like family. I'm now looking forward to going on some of their dive tours around Catalina Island. Thank you Hollywood Divers!!!!!!!
I just got a Nauticam housing for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and needed some help completing the system. Kurt Newmeyer in the underwater-camera department at Hollywood Divers was extremely helpful. I needed a port, port adapter, extension ring, and some gears. He patiently walked me through the pros and cons of the various approaches I was considering. He also helped me decide whether to go with and Acrylic or Glass port. A glass port is almost twice as much as the acrylic, so I wanted be sure I considered all the options. There is a wealth of knowledge at Hollywood Divers and it's based on experience rather than just repeating tech specs. I work in the film industry and there's a lot of expensive equipment that promises you the world and then underdelivers. Not here, it's awesome to be able to draw on all the experience the crew at the dive shop has to offer. Definitely my new go-to shop for underwater camera gear. A+
Picked up a new semi dry suit today at a great price. Owner Hal is a wiz, and his staff - Jack, Kam, and Sal- bent over backwards grabbing me everything I asked for that I wanted to look at. I'm a 25+ yr diver and scuba instructor so believe me I've been in a lot of dive shops. Hollywood Divers won't steer you wrong.
This Dive shop is simply, outstanding. I am a recreational snorkeler/free diver and I have been able to get quality gear at a great price. But what’s better than the gear is the service you receive by the staff. Everyone who works there is friendly, knowledgeable, and very willing to spend time with you explaining options and giving advice. Jack helped me and my girlfriend find some amazing used gear so we can start our new hobby!
The owner is very kind and informative. Willing to help and even include me on an upcoming dive trip!
Hal, Joe and the team at Hollywood Divers are a fantastic group of knowledgeable and enthusiastic divers. From helping fit and choose a drysuit and training, to camera lights, regulator hoses, weekly gas fills or sourcing my other odd/specific requests, Hollywood Divers have given me dedicated and personal service every time I walk in. Highly recommended.
I was looking for some snorkeling equipment for an upcoming trip and my friend recommended Hollywood Divers. Turns out they are all some of the nicest folks I've ever met! Bill, Hal and Jack helped me figure out what I needed and made great recommendations for my budget. I had to special order a dry bag, and when it didn't arrive in time before my trip, they lent me their own dry bag! Talk about treating me like family!! Seldom have I witnessed such stellar help and customer service. I highly recommend them for all your needs. They'll treat you right!
