After the hurricanes, Home Building Materials was open despite suffering massive damage, helping us pick up the pieces and start putting our lives back together. I love shopping at Home Building Materials. This place has been in Sulphur for a lot of years. I can remember my dad telling me when I was younger "If the other lumber yards dont have it, Home Building probably does" . Most of the time he was correct. Customer service has always been great. It looks like this this store is expanding and I can hardly wait to go check out the inventory!!

Home Building materials is possibly one of the best locally owned area businesses. They have pretty much anything you need from specialty cut to standard types of wood and other things like pipe, I only needed 4' of 3" and that's what I got. Also the staff is knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, and things are fairly priced. Before you go to the big box stores give these guys a try, you may be surprised.

Best Lumber Company In SWLA! Great fast, friendly service. I would like to take this time to thank those guys working so hard behind the scenes in the yard. Those guys are really special never have I seen such dedicated workers with a great sense of urgency to service its customers. Great Job guys keep up the good work.

Much better lumber than the big box stores and at comparable prices if not cheaper! No mold. No twisted, crooked, warped boards. When you go around the back to pick up your lumber, all you have to do is tell the guys “I’d like some y’all would use.” The folks upfront are friendly and helpful. They’ll leave you alone if you walk in knowing what you need and go get it, but if They see you having the slightest bit of trouble trying to find something, they’re all over you trying to help. I’d drive from Singer any day to do business with this company. If there was any thing I would like different, it would be for them to be open later than noon on Saturdays. It’s usually the only day most working folks have off. But hey, the Store’s people need their time off too!

Super helpful staff, had exactly what I needed. Despite the chaos caused by two hurricanes and a global pandemic they were polite, helpful, and got me out the door in record time. Highly recommend over national retailers. Thanks so much for your assistance.

Great selection, fair prices, and exceptional contractor services. This place has a family atmosphere rarely found at stores with their capabilities. Easy five stars.
